I lurked here long ago already because I watch ZP. But this thread got me interested that I had to register to reply.

I won't be getting SC2.

I live somewhere in SE-Asia. The Koreans are the least of my concerns. But there's a problem, the distributor that Blizzard chose for the Asian Region is so greedy as f*** that the standard edition of SC2 costs like $75-$79 while you guys there pay for like $59 for it.

I really wanted to preorder SC2. But the price is just crazy. If only it was priced $59 per trilogy (Terran, Zerg, Protoss), then I say the sacrifice is just worth it.

The distributor here is also s****y as f**k. Familiar of IAHGames? This distributor is notorious for screwing titles that they handle. Remember Hellgate: London? the game may have been crappy but it would have been fun if IAHGames stopped interfering with the game. I have a feeling they will do the same to SC2.

Other reasons why I won't buy it: No LAN; I can live without LAN but I sure don't like the idea of cutting it off the game.

Warcraft 3 was amazing, I went out and bought SC battlechest to continue my awesome blizzard rts experience and was hugely letdown. WC3 improved on the game in every way and it felt clunky in comparison so I never really played it. That kinda poisoned the experience for me, I'll be waiting for Warcraft 4, which should be out in 7 years or so.

Lol, quit complaining. Australians pay 100-120 for the standard edition.

Maybe you mean Australian Dollars. When I said $75, I'm referring to US Dollars. Don't know though.

But seriously, the various prices around the world is ridiculous.

I've never heard of it except for once in a magazine. I don't like games like that, so I won't get it.

I'm not getting it. I didn't enjoy the first one that much, and I'm not a big RTS gamer in general. I might pick it up if it ever goes on sale, but I'm not in a big hurry to get it.

The beta ruined it for me. It barely runs on my computer, the menus and new graphics bother me... I think I'll stick with the original.

I'll avoid it, both because it's Blizzard and because it's an RTS. I dislike both. The best thing Starcraft ever did was to coin the term "zerg rush".

Wow, I only just noticed the other day that they have a release date. With Blizzard I tend to check in every once and a awhile as they take the time to polish their games.

I am so excited! I intentionally did not try to get into the beta because I have found that they tend to burn me out. So nice to have some big PC releases coming. Star Craft- Wings of Liberty in about a month and just one month later Elemental! I have been waiting for both of these games for some time.

Is there anyone who will not be getting Starcraft?
DIDN'T GET THE B---Sir you are possessed of a will and emotional fortitude that I will never, EVER have. Oh my sweet science it was a GLORIOUS experience. The only people who are not getting this game either cannot because of poverty, cannot because they are dead, or cannot because they have achieved escape velocity on the Fail-O-Meter.

EDIT: Exhibit A:

Me. Fuck Blizzard. Also, I don't like RTSs. They all seem the same. More samey then other kinds of games.
More samey then other kinds of games, so racing games, shooters, fighting games are less samey then RTS games as a whole? I would say they are ALL around the same amount of samey as each other.
Always keep in mind that forum posts are people's opinions.
Yes, and because they're opinions they are excused from having any sort of connection with reality or reasoning, and can simply be posited without evidence or example no matter how flatly absurd. Q.E.D.

I won't be getting it. I have the first game, and it's fun, but there are many games that I am far more interested in than Starcraft 2.

I think a better question is: Will anyone not be getting a realised Duke Nukem Forever?

OT: I won't be getting it, traditional RTSs were never quite my cup of tea. Although, I quite like creative RTSs like Dawn of War II and TBSs.

Not much for rts-games, the online competition in those is always too aggressive for me to even bother trying.
