I won't... same as I won't get Diablo 3

Blizzard ignored these games for so long...I lost all ability to care for them. They are 12-10 years out of the lime light to long.

I have other reasons...but Blizzard as a company abandoned anyone who was not a WOW player, and they can have their dollar. But not mine.
They where probably working on sc2 for a long time but didn't do any actual game making (they did the maps, missions, new units, ect a few years after sc1) but waited so it would be a major graphical upgrade and not just a new version of the same game like mw2 and black ops will be. I'm sorry you don't like quality.

Well as I said before if we get three times the single player love for our trouble I am all over it. I know that is not enough for everyone but it works for me.

Wow, I only just noticed the other day that they have a release date. With Blizzard I tend to check in every once and a awhile as they take the time to polish their games.

I am so excited! I intentionally did not try to get into the beta because I have found that they tend to burn me out. So nice to have some big PC releases coming. Star Craft- Wings of Liberty in about a month and just one month later Elemental! I have been waiting for both of these games for some time.

Is there anyone who will not be getting Starcraft?
Yup, me

Reason (yeah I wrote that xD): http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=128252

2nd Reason: I like the game but I seriously can't live with "Battle.Net Live".
I actually had the chance to ask someone from Activision what their policy was towards Blizzard. The answer? They've pretty much been told to leave them the hell alone.

Blizzard isn't infallible. It makes mistakes, and those mistakes are its own - I think just blaming it all on Activision does nothing but to muddy waters.

Me. Most RTS games tend to bore me (I did have fun with World in Conflict, just wish there was a skirmish mode and Age of Empires II was fun). Also, someone I went to school with made me play Starcraft and honestly (*arms flame shield*), it just looked and felt like Age of Empires in space.

won't be getting it, as to my knowledge, they will not be releasing it for the mac :(
Really? It was my understanding that they were. *looks*
Ah yes from their FAQ- "StarCraft II is being developed for Windows and Mac. We have no current plans to bring the game to any console platform."
Huh, I just checked wikipedia, and it is coming out. You sir, just made my day :D
Blizzard has always released every single one of their games for both Windows and Macs. Since... if not WC1, WC2 at the very least.

To everyone whining about the "three games" thing, I hope you're boycotting Mass Effect too. It's the same damn thing - a game planned as a trilogy from the outset.

You must really hate Star Wars and Lord of the Rings too. I mean, having to buy THREE movie tickets just to get one story? What the hell is that! Trilogies are evil!

I love RTS games, but I refuse to buy Starcraft 2.

This has a lot with me not getting it, as well as it being $60, Blizzard can go fuck themselves.
Did you buy WC3 or Diablo 2?

You know, Blizzard's previous $60 games?
I have yet to pay for a game that's $60, Passed up MW2, played Diablo 2 at a friends house for 30 min before deciding it wasn't really worth it(basically just Diablo 1 with a few new classes), and I got WC3 from my uncle after he was done playing it about 2 or 3 years after it came out.

So short awnser is no. Also why would I pay $60 for 1/3rd of a game that by the developers own admission is going to be 90% of the same stuff of the first game?

And I think you ask me this every time I say something about it.

What's $180 to $25(since food is over-priced). Plus, movies aren't as time comsuming and require less effort.

There was a skirmish mode, just not very well displayed.

If you have something against $60 games, then by all means more power to you. I'm just pointing out that this is, unlike how some would claim, not new territory for Blizzard. They've been doing it since D2.

And hell, at least it's not like the N64 days when games cost $80 :p

It isn't 1/3rd of a game, and where did they say that? They're expanding on the concept of the first game's singleplayer tremendously. I've been nothing but pleased with what I've seen of SC2's singleplayer. It could be smoke and mirrors, but I seriously doubt it.

The bad parts of SC2 now are the lack of LAN and Battle.net 2.0. The game itself is shaping up fantastic.

Wow, it looks like no one here is getting it. Personally, I'm pretty stoked. I got the beta as a total newb to Starcraft, but Battle.net was pretty capable in pairing me with people with skill levels close to my total newbishness. I've won exactly 50% of my games, so I gotta give Blizz props on their skill matchmaking. Much better than the p.o.s. you'll find in gears, halo, or CoD.

I wonder about people who played SC 1 and found it wanting years after it was first released. That is like reading a Sci/Fiction book from the '70s and calling it derivative when many other authors mined that very book for ideas and they read those books first. Everyone is entitled to their own view I suppose.

It was exciting when SC1 was new. Ah well. I know I am a old gamer but here is to hoping SC2 rocks.

Not me. Got collector's edition preordered.

Honestly, the beta alone is one of my favorite games of the year so far. Soooo much fun.
Wahaha...a... Rub it in!! My SC2 fix involves watching the vids of you guys playing it! Fun by proxy maybe?

OT: I got my collector's pre-ordered. Hopefully Blizzard decide to send enough copies to the store! It would kill me if I miss out on this!

Sorry you don't like quality? Uh no.

The game looks 8 years old, it looks like it should have been out 8 years ago...I don't like corps throwing me to back of the room because I didn't play WOW.

Sorry no idea what your on about. But thinly disguised insults aren't going to change my outlook of a lazy developer as I see it SC2 and Diablo 3 BOTH are in the same category as Duke Nukeum forever... As in it doesn't exist till it's out and when it's out it was 10 fracking year since the last game...I've lost intrest sorry. Took to long. Maybe they can't make quality like others...hell 5 years you could make a high quality game.

I won't be getting it on release, probably a few months/years later when the price has fallen. I've gotten too used to games like Dawn of War, Supreme Commander, Total War, etc, to go back to the old resource gathering/base building type of RTS. I didn't even like those elements when they were the norm so I guess it's not surprising. The only reason I'll be buying it at all will be for the storyline and characters, who I genuinely liked from the first game.

Yeah the lack of LAN in new games makes me sad. What is wrong with Battle.net 2.0 in a paragraph? (if you don't mind summing up for me the non-beta guy)
