Once again, can we get some sources from the people saying that the "expansions will be all the same"? All evidence points to the fact that new units, structures, and content will be added to SC2 with the expansion packs, and Blizzard has stated that they will be priced accordingly to their content. http://us.starcraft2.com/faq.xml (control+f price)

From what I've read, each the of these expansions include radically different nuances to their singleplayers, AND blizzard plans each to have 30 missions. SC2T has you walking around a ship and chatting with the people on board, getting to know their back stories and ordering new units through mercenaries. SC2Z includes RPG elements, and SC2P will allegedly use a faction system to acquire new units. Lack of content? Really?

Please, in all politeness, if anyone can give me a source that Blizz plans to feature the same story told 3 times, show it to me.

I've been waiting several years for this game. I have the collectors edition coming in when it's released, so I'm quite excited.

Skipping past all the crazy people screaming at each other...

No, i will not be buying it when it comes out.

Because i don't have a lot of money and it's either Cataclysm or SC2 for me.

I'm going with Cata because a) I like that game more, B) I'm infinity better at that game more and c) Like Diablo 3 i can definitely wait until a battle chest comes out that's all the games together for ten dollars more then a single one of them.

I will. But I may not right away. I didn't pre-order it (simply because I didn't think I would have money by then) and probably won't be able to get it for a month after it comes out. But I will get it at some point.

Not me. Got collector's edition preordered.

Honestly, the beta alone is one of my favorite games of the year so far. Soooo much fun.

Nah, I won't be picking it up. 2 reasons: 1. I don't enjoy RTS games. 2. I don't have a PC to play it on.

I hope it is as awesome as everyone wants it to be though!

I won't be.

Not much of a Starcraft fan. Warcraft was fun though.

Anyway, I'm more of a Warhammer guy.

FOR THE GOD EMPEROR!
This sums up my feelings. Except swap Starcraft with Warcraft.

I will be buying this game even though I hate it.

I might pull a pass on it just because it's the standard RTS formula, which I'm sort of bored of, having played that formula in dozens of different interpretations since 1992 or earlier.

On the other hand, I might play it anyway if I decide that it does RTS really, really, really well to the point where I can overcome my reservations.

Thus far, I've yet to encounter adequate proof that this is the case. Ridiculous level of attention to bring about three factions that play differently... okay, sure, but it's not like I haven't seen that before.
You should play Perimeter. It's one of the strangest RTSes ever, yet It's pretty fun.
Have played. I agree, a very refreshing take to the RTS genre.

Wow. I wasn't expecting this level of nos. I know that I will be, since it is likely that I will be saving for a new computer soon for school. Or at least taking advantage of scholarship money, since I'm poor.

From what I hear, Battle.net 2.0 is far inferior to the first one, yet it sadly works for me. The only people I plan to play regularly are my IRL friends who are for sure getting this game. Here's to hoping that Blizz adds the features everyone wants, but I'm getting it regardless. My two cents, at least.

Fair enough. I can understand that. I don't have an Xbox 360. However you like to play your games. I hope you enjoy your games as well.

Really when it comes down to it if you enjoy SCII despite B.net or what have you great. If not well there a tons of games under the sun.

I like to see positive posts like yours though. Keep on gaming 'latenightapplepie'.

I'm saying it because they don't have time to change up the gameplay, they will add a story and maybe a few new guys to the mix but that's it, no new races no new units(as far as I know).
OK I'm going to do this piece by piece because it's easier that way. Not intending to be mean or anything.

The Madman said:
Actually, a quick google search says you're misinformed, and that Blizzard has every intention of introducing new units throughout the expansions as well as refining the games overall quality.

'Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void are considered to be expansion sets[25] and will be priced as such.[20]

Well I hate to say it but of course they are going to say that, if they come out and say "well we have this game we are making, it's not quite done yet, but we are going to charge you $60 for the first part then you can buy the rest as we make it as well" do you think people would honestly buy the damn thing? This goes under PR not wanting a clusterfuck of bad press about their game.

As for the new units, I admitted I didn't know they if they were going to and said I was guessing. I really don't pay attention to what is said about this game unless it's something short on here.

The Madman said:
Each will upgrade and expand multiplayer content in addition to containing a campaign,[29] such as the possibility of new units, abilities and structures.[25] New units available in the expansions can only be accessed if a player buys the expansion. Each product would have upgrades to the multiplayer, "that's the whole point of the expansion or the second part".[30] Each race will be enhanced in some way.[31]

Blizzard plans on adding "drawing" functionality for referees in Heart of the Swarm.[32]
The Madman said:
Source. The websites own sources are listed as well, obviously.
My lack of caring for multiplayer probably means that whatever "drawing" is I wont care about, unless it effects the singleplayer I wont pay attention.

The Madman said:
And if you complain about the 'can only be accessed' bit, then I'd like to point out that that's how every single expansion out there works, including those of Relic games and the previous Blizzard RTS games.

I'm still not seeing any reason why people are so up in arms about this.
I have no problem with the "can only be accessed" bit, that's just how it works.

And I don't like it because I'm not getting a full game, and then I'm expected to shell out $60 for something that's not a collectors edition.

And I don't care that people are going to get the game, hell I knew the second they said it would come out even if it cost $300 and a fully 3D monitor to play and was subscription it would still be a smash hit people would kill each other for. What I don't get is the fanatics that attack people for having an option that isn't "I want thins game now!".

I prefer my RTS games deep and single-player oriented, like Europa Universalis III. I don't want a game to last only 45 minutes. I could see myself playing Company of Heroes because it's in a setting I care about. But I could care less about Starcraft. So I won't be getting it.

Of course, this doesn't stop my friend from reciting Developer Interviews to me.

I do hope that it lives up to the hype for the sake of those waiting for it.

To everyone whining about the "three games" thing, I hope you're boycotting Mass Effect too. It's the same damn thing - a game planned as a trilogy from the outset.

You must really hate Star Wars and Lord of the Rings too. I mean, having to buy THREE movie tickets just to get one story? What the hell is that! Trilogies are evil!
What's $180 to $25(since food is over-priced). Plus, movies aren't as time comsuming and require less effort.
If you think games are time consuming and takes effort, then you shouldn't be playing games, they are suppose to be enjoyable, not a chore.

I would love to play it, but sadly I won't for the fact that my computer is in terrible shape right now.
