The physics look the most promising. Shooting seems just terrible at that point though.

Bah it doesn't work on my pc for some reason and I've got a pc that should be able to run it easily ><
hate that.
If it stops responding, just give it a minute. Did it to me too. It's kinda choppy for me. FPS isn't awesome but its an alpha.

If you dig through the planet you just end up falling out of the sky next to where you dug through. I haven't sussed anything else yet.
I feel the cursor is a bit of a douchebag, I wish I could use the mousewheel or something to attribute distance in where I'm placing blocks, where is the forum for this thing anyway?

Okay, who here, upon reading the thread title, thought "A Minecraft-esque spinoff to Knights of the Old Republic? Sweet!"

And this is alpha ? Consider me impressed.
not the playable alpha however...
The playable alpha is... unplayable..

I've been trying it out but the controls and setup need a lot of work, also the gun firing vs enemy spawn has no real contrast yet (my setup of guns would just keep on firing blindly into nowhere.)

Ah; that's too bad. Thanks for the heads up. I will definately keep an eye out on this one.

The game's developers seem to be going for the "...and the kitchen sink!" approach.

It's Minecraft, but with fancy graphics. And craftable proceedurally generated guns. And RPG leveling. And a physics model. And vehicles. And RTS elements. And a fully simulated planet atmosphere. And outer space.

Seriously, I'm just expecting a Dance mode of some kind to complete the package. :p

I've never liked Minecraft, but I understand why people like it and I acknowledge it as a good game. This looks very cool and I hope people love it and make the game a success.

Hm. First reactioHOOOOLY SHIT HOW GREAT IS THAT?!?!?

Then I tried it. Well, I tried to try it. Then, after setting its resolution to something that I haven't used for as long as I have my current monitor and experiencing quite a mess, I decided that I can safely forget about it for the time being. Something great might come out of it, and all my wishes for success go to those two(!) guys, but... if it will be worth popping up on my radar again, it will do so anyways

From what I remember, neat premise but it just doesn't have a focus. You could say that Minecraft doesn't have a focus but it does, and thats building. This just has to many major mechanics, so I don't know if you would buy this, thats up to you. But it just looks and plays blandish

Also, there was a game that already combined Minecraft and FPS and does a better job then this alpha does, go search up Brick Force and you'll find out a neat little game doing this combo well.

P.S. Creating "The New Minecraft" just isn't going to happen for some time because Minecraft is still very young since release. If you guys learned anything about Blizzard within the last year of gaming, the "WoW killer" will only appear if it takes away the audience for WoW, same goes with making a new Indie sensation like Minecraft.

I'm impressed with all of this, especially the shooting. It's so much more cinematic.

This game looks amazing.

Looks average. Yet another tower defense game, except this time in a sandbox world. There are also at least two more games trying to be a mixture of FPS and Minecraft. Brick Force is the first, and the second one I forgot but it starts with a D. These two even have copied HUDs like Starforge. Brick Force has TF2's HUD, D-game has Halo's HUD.

My comp probably couldn't run it (But then again, it can only run minecraft 50% of the time), but I'm interested.
A defense-survival based game in which you require specific materials and face hordes of aliens whilst your are all alone (plus co-op?) on an alien planet?
Sounds fun.

Not gonna lie; When I first saw the topic name I thought of Minecraft but with Space Dirt and Space Pigs, fighting off Space Creepers. xD

But in all seriousness, that trailer makes it look awesome. Can't wait to give it a shot, though those aliens definitely reminded me of the Zerg for some reason.
