It's not a religious thing. It's a cultural thing.

There is nothing about starving people in either Bible or Qu'ran. Sure in the second one there is a bit of anti-women stuff, but we might as well criticize America for the same thing.

Maybe not, but there is endorsement for rape, slavery and genocide in the Bible, as well as a healthy disregard of women in many of the versions(King James' especially).


And I do have to argue that it is a religious thing. When your culture intertwines with what is preached for so long like it has in many parts of the world, it becomes their religion. And there is more than "a bit" of that anti-woman stuff in the Qu'ran.

Sorry. OK. Starving your wife is ridiculous - but in those countries, they have about 15. So for them, starving a wife would be like not polishing a trophy. Really, I wish people would grow out of these ridiculous religions and realise that life is precious, not because God created it, not that God created men to be better than women, but because people get one shot - waste theirs, and waste another oppurtunity for the world to benefit.

Again, it's culture, not religion. In Islam you're only allowed to have a maximum of four wives, and even then, polygamy is only allowed if you treat your wives with equality and love them all equally and all that.
