Stealth or Splosions

Stealth. There is nothing more satisfying than sneaking up on someone in the dark, slitting their throats from behind and listening to them choke on their own blood.

Stealth, every time. I'm just a sneaky bastard, and I love to hit the enemy where it hurts without them realising what's happened. It's why I always play as a stealthy sort of character in shooters and such...

explosions, I like watching things go boom especially if I am the one making it happen.

Both. Sneak in, plant mines and/or other such motion-triggered explosives, sneak out. Use sneaky methods such as distracting noises etc to lure enemies into the explosive traps.

Then sit back in the distance looking on in wonder with popcorn as your unsuspecting moron enemies blow themselves into pudding and splatter themselves across a 50-yard area.

Stealth. Though sometimes I don't like the lock-picking minigame and so use explosions to open things. Which kinda undermines the sneaky part.

A large amount of enemies in an open field, possibly with vehicles? Splosions

Stealth in, lay charges, stealth out, watch the pretty explosions.

Id prefer a mix of both.
Being able to move around Quickly and Quietly but packing enough heat to survive in large engagements.

This is the attitude I'm taking with my New Vegas character. Nothing is more satisfying that laying a mine in the route of a patrolling hostile, then tracking that red mark across the map, hearing the beeping, hearing the explosion and seeing that red mark disappear.

Ah the joys of frag mines...if only I knew where to find more of them.

Both. Use explosions to blow everything up, then use the smoke from the all the burning to cover your movement.

It's the same principle behind Flashbangs, the enemy can't detect you when they're blind and deaf... or dead.

How many people at Hiroshima saw which way the Enola Gay went? Exactly.

Explosions make great diversions and cover any noise, thus greatly aiding stealth.

The opposite works too, using stealth to plant explosives, but it's not as fun.
