Three cheers for Valve! I can finally play games on my Mac!

Except I can't! Because the hardware is utter shite!

Ok, that's a bit of an overstatement. It runs, but slowly, even on the lowest settings. I blame Apple.

Really love Valve now (I did before, but this just blew the previous respect out of the water), coming to my operating system and throwing around Portal for free.
Also, I've been enjoying Torchlight for the last 2 and a half hours, gotta love it.

I have always seen VALVE as the eccentric rich uncle who loves you very much but does not visit very often (gifts). This proves it. Also, this site needs emoticons

This game is excellent. I've been waiting for so long for this moment, wow. Pleased am I!

My late-2007 MBP can run the game fine, so I'm pleased as punch. There's one little snag though: I can't seem to be able to open the console to input special commands, has anyone else run across this problem? (hitting the key bound to the console does nothing)

Will Valve actually unite Mac and PC gamers into one whole? Either the world is ending and a new one birthed from its ashes or everything I thought I knew about everything has been inverted.

YES! The mac gamer's day of reckoning has come!!!

Sure, I console game all the time and probably will do so for the foreseeable future, and I rented the orange box for 360 a while ago, but I'm a day 1 downloader of steam. Awesome stuff. This is worth playing through again, now i'll get some steam achivevements, will be great!

Did you remember to enable it in the Advanced controls?

This is a great offer! I am still in awe at this generosity even though I found out almost 12 hours ago and have downloaded the game already.

I'm tempted to uninstall my current copy of Portal just so I can download this.
Er... if you uninstall portal, you're still going to own it. You'd have to make a new Steam account.

I need a proper computer first, and I already have it on the 360.
If you 'buy' it now (for free) it will be attached to your account and you can re-download it any time in the future, on any computer you own. Even if you can't play it now, it might be worth signing up and grabbing a copy anyway.

So, is TF2 eventually going to be Mac-compatible? And if so, are we PC gamers actually going to be playing TF2 with Mac owners?
Yes and yes.

Hold on a second...

You're saying there are people who own a PC and haven't played Portal?
I've played it on the Xbox 360 and didn't like it. And I have a PC and I haven't played it on the PC.
Sarcasm really doesn't work well when writing, does it?

And Valve prooved that it's the greatest dev evar. Seriously, while bioware charges for every new gun skin to their games, TF2 has been supported for YEARS with constant updates of content. And think how easy would it be for them to just make those weapons avaiable to peaple who would pay...

I love Valve

Yes, I realize that. It was a joke. I love Portal and this deal is so amazing I wish I could take advantage of it.

Looks like humor doesn't fare so well either. >.>

Ah, much obliged! I feel a little silly not noticing that.

Thanks a bunch, man.
