I completely agree with the OP here.
You'd think wouldn't you, that with all the bad press the gaming community gets as a whole, we'd be pulling together and presenting a united front, rather than squabbling over which Game/Character/Genre/Platform/Developer is better? Just enjoy the games that you enjoy people, and be proud that the industry gives us so many different games to appeal to so many different people.
As for the corporations... No, I can't say I like everything they do either. I'm still pretty pissed off at all the story content in Mass Effect 2 the EA kept back as DLC. But here's the thing, despite all that, I fucking love ME2, so I was prepared (however grudgingly) to fork out for every last piece of it. If that makes me a corporate whore, so be it.

OT: Yes it is annoying but if the product is genuinely broken(BO at launch) or advertised to be something it is not or a badly made product(like BO) or removes features that have been around since start of series for no reason(like MW2) yes it is ok to hate the company and want to boycott them or something. Also a lot of people who play games although more so seems to be really popular ones are dreadfully immature. I can't see why anyone would use a huey on Nuketown it does completely ruin a game. We do tend to complain more than other hobbies. For starters I am sick of people trying to turn JRPGs into WRPGs(I don't make threads about it due to it causing flamewars).
It gets worse when people try to argue flawed points. Anyone who says an analog stick is genuinely better than a mouse for aiming has never used one properly(you can prefer it but it is not better). Same as a keyboard will never have the degree of movement as an analog stick. Same as motion controls when perfect will make them both lesser systems.

I'm still of the mindset that I love our corporate overlords. They make great games of unmatched quality that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Hurray for capitalism!
