I haven't bought from Sony in years. I like the other two.
Out of pure curiosity, why?
Because I still use old TVs, and I prefer playing video games to watching movies.
Unless you meant why I like Microsoft and Nintendo, which can be simply answered as Xbox 360 and my childhood (and currently Pokemon LeafGreen). (respectively)
lol fair enough. My childhood was all Pokemon, so Imma show restecp. I was just curious as to why people align naturally with one company or the other.
The PS2 was my favorite system last gen. It was an amazing system with an amazing collection of games. The PS3 is not, is a glorified Blu-Ray Player, and since it's release, Sony has said and done many stupid things. I could always return to loving Sony. Maybe the PS4 will be worth my money. But it better be a gaming system.
You've got an interesting point, tho I'm going to disagree with you on the PS3, restecpfully, of course.

Whilst the PS3 of course doesn't have the library of games the PS2 had (which would be a noteworthy accomplishment for any console) it still has an ever-growing library of damn good games. On top of that it has full blu-ray compatibility, full HD support, free online access with a great store and a really good online store, future Steam support from what I've heard, as well as a bunch of free applications like Mubi, that are like video stores at home.
Of course it's not just a console, but in this day and age, what is? Just like mobile phones have evolved into multi-purpose platforms to help with our daily lives, the PS3 and 360 are both multi-purpose machines built for entertainment.
Sure Sony has made a bunch of stupid moves, but who hasn't? Microsoft and Nintendo sure as hell have.

*pant pant* Wow. . . I really don't know where that came from. I'm gonna get flamed for this, so I reckon I'll log off for the night XD

Well, this only applies to me, but most of that I dont care about or need. And most of the games the PS3 has that the 360 doesnt, I dont care for. Though, to be fair, 90% of the reason I bought a 360 over a PS3 was for Oblivion which was origionally not on the PS3. (Had it been on the PS3 but not the 360, I would have gotten it instead)

The biggest sell for the PS3 is movies. Whether you like it more or not, you cant deny that it was its Blu Ray player that was its paraded feature. I dont mind paying for online for XBL. It keeps Microsoft interested in keeping it good. Though the free PSO means if I do get a PS3, I wont need to pay for online that I will rarely use.

Oh you know what else is annoying?

When people make posts complaining about people complaining and actually think it will make a diffrence, No it will not why?, Beacuse this threads going to go out of view soon enough or another persons going to come along and make a thread complaining.

The means doesn't justify the resualts.
It's almost as annoying as people complaining in a thread complaining about people complaining.

OT: People just hate evil big businesses. They saw to much Captain Planet, where all capitalism is Eeeevilllllll
It seems we've somehow achieved recursive complaining.

People do need to settle down and stop complaining about everything, even for a game they haven't played and isn't even out yet.

Also hasn't anyone noticed that compromise is a alien term to game forums. I mean every post about games for making them better and such is mainly a "do it this way or the highway" sort of thing where their is no compromise.

For example the thermal clip system in ME2 everyone demands that they revert back to ME1 system. Well how about a mix of the two where we have thermal clips and if you run out the rifle will revert to the ME1 rifle system and you can keep firing until you overheat. That way the fans can have their favorite weapon system and Bioware can keep the thermal clip system but honestly I don't have a problem with the thermal clip system.

Compromise it can work just give it a try.

We gamers are a spoiled bunch. I grew up with gaming and consoles (my first was a ZX Spectrum back in the 80's) and I don't know what happened, but I long for the day when we, as a community, stop bitching about the "Evil Corps" that make and sell us our games and consoles.

"Sony sucks!"

"Microsoft sucks!"

"Nintendo sucks!"

We get it! You hate those corporations, even as you buy and use their games. Now, please, can we just move the fuck on?! It's getting really fucking annoying to hear these "Hero of the People" speeches in every bit of news and every posted thread in these forums!

Thank you for your cooperation.
OMG

Iwata, you're back!

:D

Were'd you go?!
I went nowhere. I've been here all along.

"Stop complaining" is a bit too generic of a request. We don't "owe" anything to game companies, and they don't "owe" anything to us. People are vocal because they want game companies to know what upsets them. This helps game companies because they sometimes use that information to determine their next move.

Besides which, complaining is often reasonable. Obviously, if it were discovered that a game company forces its employees to eat babies, then we'd think they're pretty awesome. ......I-I mean, we would complain.

And even if you don't agree with the complaining in question, spouting off at them for it doesn't change their opinion. You're free to ignore them on forums (usually) but you may have to the simple fact that this many people hold that opinion.

Still, I kinda agree that certain whiners are unhelpful either way; we all know the all-caps kind who believe that X company has ruined Y franchise by introducing/removing Z mechanic and never backs up their opinions. Just recognize that once in a while, their opinions do hold water, and you can't universally dismiss them - we'd never make progress if we didn't know where people are going wrong.
