We gamers are a spoiled bunch. I grew up with gaming and consoles (my first was a ZX Spectrum back in the 80's) and I don't know what happened, but I long for the day when we, as a community, stop bitching about the "Evil Corps" that make and sell us our games and consoles.

"Nintendo sucks!"

We get it! You hate those corporations, even as you buy and use their games. Now, please, can we just move the fuck on?! It's getting really fucking annoying to hear these "Hero of the People" speeches in every bit of news and every posted thread in these forums!

i play everything. the xbox fries after about a year (old ones at least).
nintendo panders to "social gamers".
and sony is... well, bad games and a crappy controller.

i like the god of war series. bought a ps3 for it. plus the psn games... awesome.
the wii is fun at first. and mario galaxy (2) is pretty cool. and the virtual console is great.
microsoft has a lot of good games i enjoy. and i like their controller.
the pc offers a lot of games i would enjoy, but alas... i have not the hardware to run some of them the way i'd like.

all in all, play games. not because they're from a certain brand of console version. play them because of their merits. be an All Around Gamer. like me.

Good point. We should just accept these companies for all their failings. We should accept everything they put out as it is. We should not voice our opinions on what can be improved. We should not hope for a better industry, even if there is room for improvement.

Obviously we should not feel entitled to anything. Our job is to consume whatever we're given, and not to give lip about it's quality. We are consumers, not critics. We should barely be allowed opinions, because we just ruin stuff with them.

We as consumers can barely elevate ourselves above dragging our knuckles across the ground, and hamfistedly smashing controllers in a futile attempt to experience the perfection created by our masters. Barely evolved from ape level, we should not dare to question the choices of our gaming overlords, who most assuredly know better. We should be content to merely kiss the dirt beneath our true gods feet. How dare scum suggest otherwise?
