I mean, comon! If that was luck, there is a full on hurricane to make that bullet curve to kill the guy.
That looks like it was just luck, the crosshair wasn't anywhere near the guy. Aim-asist just lowers the sensitivity as your crosshair gets near enemies (or snaps to them when you IS), it doesn't curve bullets in the air.
It actually sticks to the enemy, like a magnet effect. So as you go over the enemy to cross hairs are drawn to the enemy, then you fire straight ahead and lag makes up the rest of it.
Thats what I just said. Thats why it was just luck.
No, it isn't.

You said it like it's either on them or not, I said it is more like a magnet.

EDIT. There are a million of these vids out there, are you saying there is that much luck in MW2 but I haven't seen any of this stuff in any other games.

Snipers in MW2 fire anywhere within the massive cross hairs I think.
I know that the Iron Sights snaps onto someone if they are inside of those massive crosshairs, thats how quick scopers do their "thang".

I like KillZone's approach (one day, I will stop harping on about that game*) where bullet physics actually apply to where the barrel of your gun is pointing, so just coming out of a sprint or a jump your going to be shooting rubble.

*today is not that day.

One of my biggest pet peeves that, ducking round a corner only to still die, some instances I have been a victim to have been sheer robbery.
Indeed, on KillZone there's a bunch of Japanese guys that have to use the EU servers because as we all know, the Japanese as a nation aren't big fans of FPS's, and the servers prioritise people from outside of the region, so they all shoot round corners and have a split second advantage. It was much better when GG had the network code locked down, but they relaxed it to stop people with shitty net connection from getting auto kicked, which has given us a whole new problem... LAGSWITCHERS, because the servers now ignore 1 second drops in net connections, ARGHH!.

Sory to burst your bubble but the sound actually starts when the crosshair is immediately over the target.

Even failing that, lag could be culprit, and also physics. When you swing a rifle around generally the bullet is not going to go exactly where you aim.

What the fuck is that? That's not how FPS should be played! I always considered FPS games to be about skill. Aim assist doesn't require skill. I didn't even know consoles had this. Oh my god that is so pathetic. I remember playing B.L.A.C.K. on PS2 couple of years ago. The only FPS on console that I actually enjoyed. That's an awesome game. I don't remember it having aim assist. With a little practice I was able to beat that game on highest difficulty. It's not impossible to play without aim assist. It's just harder. But I suppose they have to include it because most of the players on consoles are 13 year old kids and they don't give a shit. They just want to shoot stuff and scream in your ears.

So I was wondering how screwed would we console gamers be without this massive aid?
I generally turn off sticky aim in any game I can. It screws up my sniper shots to no end.

I play a lot of shooters on consoles and I always turn aim assist off. In my opinion, if you can't hit your target without aim assist, you suck and need some practice.

I would love it if this crap disappeared. I can't even begin to count the number of times i've had the sight on someones head when his friend runs in front and drags my sight into no-mans land between them right as i take my shot. GARRR. so many lost kills.

I don't mind that it's there. When I'm playing a shooter, I want a fairly fast paced experience anyway, and aim assist can really help to streamline shootouts.

That said, it should be much tighter than that, and I get annoyed with it when I start noticing it autocorrecting me a lot during gameplay.
Yeah, it can speed things up but being corrected by 2 inches and bullets curving round corners is a step too far.
If that had been another FPS on the PC he would've been kicked or banned for using an aimbot. He was aiming at least two metres to the right when he fired. If you play a game with autoaim (built in or not) you should not brag about skill because you have little to no actual game skill.

On a side note: No, not all PC players use aimbots or any other type of artificial assistance. Obviously some do but not everyone. Console players should not take the holier than thou attitude when it comes to games as they are quite capable of using glitches and exploits.

ehh i turn it off whenever i can, mostly in older games i was able to, in newer games i turn it off if its available but for the most part i haven't noticed it too much...besides stupid mw2 and crap, thats the only games where it actually really shows up or affects gameplay.

Whenever I use the 360 I try not to use it - I switched it off entirely in GTA IV, because between the aim assist and the fucking cover system I would have wanted to kill myself.

You're not forced to use auto-aim in games. I turn it off and I get comparatively better scores than most people. I don't know what PC gamers are talking about when they claim that their controls are better. To me, their pretty much equal.

In PC gaming you have advantages with a mouse, but all your other controls are unresponsive keys. Why the fuck do I have to augment my hand is such a way to move my hand from 'WASD' so I can reach 'Z' 'X' 'C' or any other strangely placed key just to throw a frigging frag grenade?

The benefit of controllers is that you have all the buttons you're ever going to need and they're all there at your fingertips, literally. The downside being that analog sticks aren't very accurate when aiming, but if you use it enough and tweak the settings right, you'll be just fine.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Did you know that Microsoft wanted to go cross platform with PC and Xbox 360 but they couldn't because PC gamers kicked console gamers asses? Console gamers couldn't touch PC gamers. PC controls are much more fluid and FPS games are best played on PC. Everyone knows that. You don't move your hand anywhere. It's all in your reach and it's a lot easier and it feels better with a mouse and keyboard. And if some buttons are a little out of reach then you just have to develop some skills.

Proof?

I highly doubt any of that, but if you can show some kind of proof I wouldn't hesitate to believe you.

FYI I do play both and like I said there is no discernible difference between the two.

Actually, I think it hits while he's turning, ad he in fact continues to turn after he fired the shot, while the hit marker stays on-screen. Something I hate though is people getting all high-and-mighty (I'm not saying this is what you're doing, I'm saying I've met people who are like this) about being a PC gamer, and assume that all Console players are 'tards with no skill... It's just so frustrating. It's about as true as saying that every PC gamer has hacks.
