It's okay. But it's not exactly a classic. A classic game song, yes, but not a classic song that will be played over and over by people in years to come. It's not exactly like it's "Imagine" or anything.
Genres have nothing to do with it. I'm talking about a song that has lasting power. A song that has that something that keeps it in rotation on radio stations. Something that has the quality to last 20-30-40 years. It's a cute little game jingle, but I don't think "Still Alive" will be a song people will recognize 20 years from now, other than by people who are gamers who obsess over these things. The same type of people who can tell you which Zelda game a particular "Secret" tune goes to.Zachary Amaranth said:Different genres?meganmeave said:It's a cute song. "We Will Rock You" is hardly "Imagine," either.
I guess most of us still like it cause there has been an absence of Still alive spamming on the forums.ScottocS said:I thank you OP for bringing this upI quickly jumped over to youtube and started this beast of a song up

I seriously don't believe anyone that likes the song is going to agree that it's lost any 'spark', nor will the people that hate it applause it's greatness. It is a fun, querky and creative song no matter.![]()
Your avatar makes that whole story so much better. *high five!*Andaxay said:I only really heard this song properly a few weeks ago when I finally completed Portal (yeah, I know). Thankfully, I avoided most of the Internet hype, so in my eyes it's a terrific song that sits happily on my MP3 player. I can't stop listening to it. I know all the words off by heart. 40 minute train journeys every morning and evening are made so much better.
