Yep, this. However one of the Escapists I've recently got chatting to on MSN is stranger than most.

Despite the thousand or more miles between us, I am extremely concerned.

One of my best buddies is an extremely devout Christian, while I'm a total atheist.
Of course with my communist friend, as with many communists, he is an atheist, which is fine with me because so am I, though perhaps it's a little mean to insult the religious. I got a higher RE GCSE than quite a few of my religious friends, which I find hilarious.

However, the jesting is still justified, seeing as I've only met one devout Christian that has managed to put forward a compelling argument.

I wouldn't call it weird, but one of my friends is a devout Catholic and I'm a dirty heathen unbeliever, but she's actually one of the best friends I've ever had. Strange how things work out sometimes...

Once I was at a Karate Seminar, and we were pairing up to learn how to break choke-holds or something,
and I was with this guy with huge hands, and he really crushed my small little throat. Then he moved to my school into my form/class. So it was 'Hey! You're that bastard who crushed my neck!' and then we were friends who looked like we were trying to kill each other. Which was fun.

I'm chums with a really staunch Christian schizophrenic. (Yes, the ones with voices in their heads.)
Staunchly schizophrenic or staunchly christian? ;) I always imagined being schizophrenic as being quite interesting; I could quite literally argue compellingly with myself to un-nerve others.

Anal variety?

Sorry couldn't resist :p

Well I have a life long friend that has the exact opposite views, opinions and general tastes in life as opposed to me.

Yet I would trust him with my life.

The strangest friendship I have had was not strange when it started, but changed into strange a while later.

I dont know how we became friends (only that, in terms of appearance, it couldnt be much more apart). I do know that I introduced him to games (SNES) and that he took quite a liking to it. At first we would talk about it a lot (at the place I was at there was nothing much to do) and, since I was designing my first game back then, I decided it might be nice to get his help for some ideas. Unfortunately, most probably due to these games, he started to think he was some kind of messias (using the things he encountered in games as his powers of some kind), which evolved into him thinking he was some kind of god.

As should be clear, the friendship was pretty much over at that point.

i'm a physicalist computer programmer. one of my best friends is a pantheist going for a masters in art. for whatever reason we get along great.

on top of that, we also dated in high school. i told her i was attracted to her best friend, and she dated one of my other friends TWICE, once before me and once after. in both cases, neither of them told me until months afterward.

the friend she dated, incidentally, is bi, and HE asked me out once, too. haven't seen him much since college but we get along too.

I really should of been more specific.
My Sexuality = Asexuality.
which means I can scowl evilly at all those sex crazy people.

whereas you would trust some of your friends with your life, I trust none of mine with MY life, but I would DIE for any of them.

I swung and dropkicked a kid in 3rd grade while on the playground, and he and I today are best friends.

I think 3 of my friends I have started something like that. It's just how us manly men work I guess.

My friend normally insults me, treats me like crap, rarely ever relates to me, always disagrees with my thoughts, and constantly makes me feel retarded. However, we're best friends, still.

The weirdest friendship I have is with my best friend Naomi. She's really into fashion, loves to go shopping, and likes to do girly things. I do to, but she takes it to the extreme sometimes. I on the other hand like video games, electronics, and dancing like a maniac. She doesn't even know how to hold a video game controller correctly, and yet, we're best friends.

I've always wondered about Asexuals. Do you have no sexual desires whatsoever? Or is it something slightly different?

Asexuality is the lack of desire for sex. Not to be confused with impotency which is the inability to have sex.

An asexual can have sex, they just don't desire it.

Actually, that's antisexuality, which I completely understand and support, as I am also antisexual.

Asexual is more of a "Don't need or want sex, ever," rather than a "Oh gross, go fuck somewhere else (or I will cut it off)"

-snip-
Thanks for clearing that up for me, Max :D
even though I'd probably be somewhere between the two. With added Hilarity for watching people die. I'm confused about that.
