Well... There was the guy who believed me when I introduced myself as God, apparently I seemed convinced enough myself.

At the moment a plague is spreading among my friends, see, one group of friends hangs out almost exclusively with each other, all but me and one other person suffer from severe mental problems, they are pretty delusional, depressive, and very weak-minded, as in very easily influenced. One of them happened to be extremely racist, the others being very easily influenced by people around them, have become semi-nazis already. It's quite annoying.

Well I'm Bi and I'm friends with a Nazi sympathizer
I have many bi friends, but Nazi sympathisers; certainly not. That must be an odd friendship.
Well he dosent know Im Bi. And I showed him the tolerance and respect of his views that I wanted to be shown, and looked past it to find a guy who I shared a lot with. (Star wars star trek ect.) And guess what I think Im getting through to him on at least the gay part, by showing other tolerance, they may be kind to show it back.

I swung and dropkicked a kid in 3rd grade while on the playground, and he and I today are best friends.
He was probably impressed at how awesome that was.

And on topic, I have a "friend" that's quite literally a fat bastard.

I had a weird ginger guy follow me around college for about a year. I hated him, he loved me for some reason.

It ended with the simple fact that I passed and he didn't.

God bless sweet justice!

One of my best buddies is an extremely devout Christian, while I'm a total atheist.
We talked about religious stuff a little until we decided that neither could convince the other and now the subject doesn't even come up anymore, except sometimes in jest.
Hah, mine is the complete opposite, except I'm not exactly devout. I'm Christian to a certain extent, but my friend is the most devout atheist (for want of a better term) you'll ever meet. Can't complain though, he (Sorceror Nobody on the Escapist) is the guy who introduced me to this site in the first place... :)

Staunchly schizophrenic or staunchly christian? ;) I always imagined being schizophrenic as being quite interesting; I could quite literally argue compellingly with myself to un-nerve others.

You're best buddies with Joan of Arc?
(sic)
Killer Midget: She's staunchly Christian.
Max the Reaper: Very much like Joan of Arc now that I think of it.

I hope he isn't antisemitic.

I'm friends with someone who in all aspects should be my mortal enemy. He's marxist, sexist, chauvinistic, extremely liberal, a total asshole, and he constantly insults me. But for some reason we just get along like that, constantly berating each other over our traits.

One of my friends is the very definition of a Daily Mail reader. He is quick to blame everything on immigrants, is racist in a fairly open manner, is big headed, inappropriate, two faced, sly, greedy and passive aggressive. Oh and his favourite book is Mein Kampf.

I don't know why I'm friends with him, just think nobody in our group has the heart to tell him we all hate him.

I used to know this kid who's name started with a "Z"
I can never remember his name, for smoe reason I think it was "Zebra" because I have a foggy memory of him telling "...Like Z for Zebra..." and that's about it.
He was my only friend in school and I have no idea who he was.

I would probably make a weird friend though, partially because I'm a homophobic, partially because I only seem to connect with people who are a bit "off",partially because I'm just plain abnormal

One of my best friends had a weird mental problem.
He believed in magic thoroughly and was 100% sure his dead girlfriend lived in his head.
It creeped me out a bit, but he's a great guy.

My best friend is a born and bred jock and ladies man. He's the kind of guy you'd expect to see in an Ambercrombie and Fitch catalog if not for his sleeve tattoo. Everything about him is all natural. He's ripped, yet he doesn't really work out. I've seen, literally, dozens of hot chicks proposition him for sex on various occasions. He excels at just about any sport he attempts, and is an exceptional marksman. He talks and acts like the jock he looks like.

On the other hand, you have me. I'm overweight, not really big on sports, and the only reason I have the luck with girls that I do, is because I've worked REALLY hard for it. I've had to teach myself the right things to say, and the best techniques for getting a shallow girl past my looks (and I still get turned down A LOT). No girl, in my entire life, has ever propositioned me for sex. I suck at most sports (I was a decent baseball player, I was a great lineman in football, but that's it). I'm an ok marksman at best. I talk and act like an academic, because that was always my forte.

The fact that we ended up best friends is something we joke about constantly. It's a weird combination, and we (and everyone we know), know this. It's worked out well though, seeing as we tend to fill in each others weak spots.

Most I had/have are strange. It's hard to imagine someone befriending an apathetic asshole who can't even talk properly and is somewhat aggressive.
People are strange.

Me: geeky, socially awkward, atheist, from a working class 'living from hand-to-mouth' background. Her: beautiful, popular, religious, rich, a self-confessed snob. We were great friends for a few years, then the relationship developed and we dated for over a year.

It ended less than brilliantly, but not because of any of the conflicting character traits listed.
