Oh you're dead wrong on that one bro.
And the other post which I will not quote...

That isn't what I meant by "Ponies not having tainted rule 34", after all we all know that if it exists, rule 34 applies, I meant that ponies have not yet infiltrated rule 34...

"If it exists, there is ponies of it"
Or something of the sort.

I guess I should have made that clearer.

I have a sense of Deja vu. Like a very similar thing was also done with comic book heroes and basic newtonian physics in the past.

Anyway my main question is, the series is called My Little Pony, so where the fuck are all the damn ponies?
We got Unicorns and Pegasii aplenty but jack all Ponies.
One answer is that the name is a generic brand name that applies to all the talking horse-like beings, regardless of technical equestrian definitions here.

Or I could just point out all the younger ponies that show up in the show, such as Applebloom and the rest of the cutie mark crusaders. Whom Twilight actually calls "My little ponies".

I guess this is kind of neat, considering the popularity of the show but I have to wonder what type of high school he is attending to be allowed to do a project like that in a science class. Not trying to imply something is wrong with the school or his chosen assignment (so MLP trolls stay back, hold back your rainbows of wrath) but I'm a bit shocked, more like culture shocked instead of being snobbishly appalled at, the fact that he and I guess other students were assigned simple stuff like that.

When I was in high school, I was doing calculus based physics which was a standard level class and not a college AP course. The setting of my high school was to prepare students for college so our classes mirrored or went a little bit beyond the type of material covered on an average college level. Also, my high school was not the equivalent of ivy league status.

I guess that was just the educational direction that the county I went to school in wished to take. Maybe the county or district this kid goes to school in is more relaxed.

I'm impressed by this. Heaven knows I love science and whatnot. However, I must oppose this use of science because of my love of cat girls.

Everything would work out if Applejack and butterflies were made of dark matter.
no im pretty sure they are made out of dark energy which also explains the ability to break the sound barrier if not the speed of light

Well seeing as My Little Pony is technically not a comic,I'm sure the cat girls are safe from Science's wraith. Otherwise we can use lemons to burn their house down.

Haha this was brilliant. Only intended to watch a bit but ended up watching it completely through. Very good, and very entertaining!

Hrpmh. Double post. My bad.
Did you... did you just quote me and then deleted the post?

I'm confused as the forum software is a bit crazy today too and I'm not sure what's up now.
Yeah, I did, then got distracted, then reposted it in the above post to save space, but removed the post reference to avoid double-notifying you.
I see. Though it wasn't there the last time I looked, I swear!

But... Susan is our Nerd Queen. How could I steal a badge from the Queen? That's like stealing... well, from the Queen!
Woah, woah, woah. I wasn't suggesting you steal anything. Or acquire, appropriate, "borrow", liberate, snatch or otherwise remove anything from anyone's possession, I was merely implying that you beg and plead her to, in her infinite wisdom and benevolence, grant me the badge "For being such a good sport" and also to screw with everyone else.

I'm assuming the kid in the video is American (like myself).

Our education varies from state to state, and county to county, but if I had to give an opinion on this its that high school is too easy in America. It was for me anyway.

As part of a high school science assignment to determine how real the physics in movies and TV shows is, student "Stephen Magnet" has revealed the shockingly low standards of scientific research that goes into the average My Little Pony episode.
Damn you students! First you ruined [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ringworld_Engineers#Origin] Ringworld for me and now you've ruined My Little Pony! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

Fuck, I've been using My Little Pony all this time as a frame of reference for physics and Einstein to teach me about the magic of friendship. Oh well at least I can still rely on Fox News for the truth!

Alright this is cool and all, but I still don't understand the sudden widespread obsession with My Little Pony...

Even a semi-serious discussion about the science in a kid's show about magical talking ponies is almost too tragic to imagine, and yet that appears to be what I'm looking at.

Here's a major hole in his presentation. Often times he's referring to the pegasi, who are likely to be much lighter then the average pony. Hell, they can walk on fucking clouds. Do you really think being caught by a swarm of butterflies makes less sense then walking on clouds?
