Raise your hand if you think the students did not believe it for a second but were trolling the researcher.

How could students believe that Tree Octopi exist? I thought it was common knowledge that they were exterminated for their pelts a hundred years ago.

Eh, doesn't really surprise me. People are stupid and lazy. Stupid for believing it and lazy for not doing follow up research.

Is there another source with this story?

I cannot bare the Daily "Racist" Mail
Changes in bold.

Well to be fair people believed the April fools day new report about Italians growing spaghetti on trees.

Elusive tree octopus proves students DO believe everything they read on the Internet
Well I'm glad they went to the trouble of proving, not just collecting a few evidence. Also notice they say "students" not people, I know they were students but that doesn't define them as people. This from the paper that believes all of England's problems would be solved if only Diana was still alive and that immigrants are to blame for low house prices and water gives you cancer.

You sure this isn't just a story by the Daily Mail to tell us how stupid the people of today are (ironic, I know)?

I bet the next time they write about the story they blame it on the Muslims.
Now I'm not a racist, but- FUUUUUUUU-

God damn that 'newspaper'

OT: I want one as a pet. What do you mean they're not real! I call bullshit!

Thanks man, I agree with the change!

Let's not forget their hate for those who do not have a job, even if you only lost it 2 hours a go you're the scum of the Earth wasting oxogen, and probaly claim thousands in benifits with your brood of children you're popping out for the sole reason of money.

Oh, and ALL Muslims are terrorists and ALL Black people have knives.

Oh - I'm a student, so I guess I'd better get believing... All hail the tree octopi.

Saw this on Facebook via my favorite girl. She called me shortly thereafter like "can you believe these people?"

Q: Why are Sasquatch allowed to gather Tree Octopuses if the octopuses are endangered?
A: No one allows a Sasquatch to do anything; they just do it.

But... but... the internet told me so! The internet told me so! I mean how am I going to know about the truth? Go out and do research?

I mean come on I hate to be cynical but maybe this guy just wants some fame...

Kids aren't that stupid these days are they...?

Never mind this is probably true. I say we start weeding out the idiots.

Maybe- just maybe- it's time for schools to start focusing on teaching students how to think instead of merely what to think.

I thought it was real at first, until I noticed that it's main predator was the sasquatch, and the "sighting photos" of stuffed animals in trees.
