Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas scared the shit out of me as child, but I got over it once Kingdom Hearts came out and I was presented with an opportunity to kill that melonfarmer.

Also.

The way he turned his head to look at you creeped me out beyond belief. The rest of the game I was fine with.
Me Too... I had trouble sleeping for four years after seeing it... Had to trick myself into thinking "Zombies can't open doors."

Now I can play Zombie games no problem.

Saladfingers.
So many moments to choose from... cutting himself on nails, caressing rusty kettles, the screaming puppet or leaving the little boy in the oven.

I may have nightmares tonight.

The music video for "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.

Instilled a terror of the undead in me like nothing else before then!

"Return the slab, or suffer my curse."
That was an awesome, terrifying episode. Plus the music was awesome. King Ramses! Return the slab, return the slab!

Love that swingin tune.

This was in our kindergarten library.
It wasn't so much the stories as the pictures that went with them. One of them made me drop the book and run out of the room...I still don't think I'd be able to read any of the books.

That and Nightmare Before Christmas; I refused to take the tape out because I thought a hand would come out of the VCR.

Edit: Oh, and on the subject of Courage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OS1Jg3RTgGM

These were the reason I never passed Ocarina of Time. I'm not sure what else scared me.

I had nightmares from that. Also, House of the Dead 2 on Dreamcast scared the ever-loving crap out of me.

Believe it or not, the "Larry-boy" Veggietales spinoffs. The villains just scared me shitless when I was 6.

The basement, and the living room TV when it wasn't on.

I know, I was pretty messed up.
