The idea that Actors don't work... or shouldn't get paid.

I bust a gut chasing work, and when i do get it i put in long hours getting the job done right. Also ... You don't work for free, why the hell should I?

The bias some folk have towards young parents, which must mean anyone who isn't in their 30s and have a full career under their belt must be scum and belong on Jeremy Kyle's chat show.

I get this problem, since I'm only 22. I can be with my daughter and because I look younger, I get some horrible looks sometimes. Best thing is, I'm really a nice guy and probably completely different to what they think I am.

Sure, some young parents are scum, but not all of them.
You're 22 and already have a daughter DAAA...... ow wait my mother was 21 when she got my older sister..... and 22 when she got me nvm, moving on.

I hate the stereotype that everyone from Holland uses drugs. I have never used drugs and frankly am not planning on using them either. Heck the strereotype is so ingrained in people's heads that I once got stopped by one of those police dogs (I've got dogs myself so I probably smelled interesting to him). The police didn't care, the moment I mentioned I was Dutch you could see a little twinkle light up in their eyes...... I disapointed them ;p.

(ps this is not me complaing about getting searched for drugs. That could happen to anyone, I'm ranting on the fact that the moment they heard I was Dutch they immideatly assumed they had hit the jackpot).

Similarly, in England there is a north/south divide and a very strong stereotype in the north that southern accents are idiotic too and vice versa. Also, graphics aren't important.
You mean southerners are a bunch of lying, cheating morons, while we up north are honest, down to earth people that you can trust.

oh but they are. their the most important part of immersion, and with immersion, no game is good.
I was more immersed in thief than I ever was in Crysis. Graphics are not important.

The "New Zealenders fornicate with sheep" stereotype pisses me off. Seriously, how did that come into being? It just seems arbitary.
Hahaa I don't think this is actually taken literally by anyone. I bag my friend for being of New Zealand background all the time, but he bags me about being Irish (background) so fairs fair : D

no offense to any Brits, but it's sort of an American stereotype that people with British accents are super smart
There's also no such thing as a british accent.

I don't think the stereotype is girls aren't capable of playing video games, just not many of them do...=/

Anyways, mine is that anyone that loves FPS is a dim-wit or 12....-_-

Studying Japanese makes you an 'otaku.' Annoys me to no end.
This. Signed in for two years of Japanese class and the only questions I was ever asked were variations of "what anime/manga do you like?" and "do you like Gackt?"

Never occurred to people that I might be in it for the linguistics.

You mean northerners are a bunch of pikey bastards, whilst southerners enjoy earning our possessions legitimately?
I'm kidding. I go to uni up north, and can safely say that most northern/southern stereotypes are completely unfounded. Also, I'm a midlander. All the stereotypes about us being massively indecisive are true, sadly...

North is still better.

Except Barnsley. No one likes Barnsley.

Heres some of mine.

A silent or quite sniper or marksman character in a game or film.

Why do black characters always die in films?
-They usually have the coolest character but they always seem to be the one the director kills off relativly quickly.

All British people are Evil.

America is always the good guy dispite being the most sinister nation on Earth.

Russians are all terrorists.

The Irish are always Drunk.
-I have met many sober Irish, In fact I am part Irish and can go a full 48 hours without a drink. (Thats a full 48 hours more then most English northeners =P)

Running zombies.

The notion that everybody who studies history is a nerd, smells funny and hates fun. And the notion that teachers are dusty, old, and hate fun. (I'm a history teacher btw)

The stereotype that all Arabs are Muslim Terrorists. I'm Christian and I oppose violence and religious extremism.

Also a stereotype going on here in Lebanon, that being smart and open-minded means I'm a loser. Why? I don't know, that's just how people think here.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

People thinking that it is anti-social sitting in front of the pc playing videogames, but running around with another 21 twats on a field chasing a pigskin ball isn't.
