That the French always surrender. Seriously, they have been fighting wars for a huge amount of their history, and then they surrender to germany in WW2, causing people to believe they always surrender for some reason. It's just stupid. No one ever makes fun of Poland, Italy, Germany, or Denmark, and they all surrendered! Also I don't like it when people say that graphics aren't important, because I'm sure that this is why Darkest of Days (one of my favorite games) wasn't taken as seriously as other games. I remember a review of it I saw on X-Play giving it a 1 out of 5, and the only reason I could find was "The graphics aren't good".

People call me gay because I would rather have love and a real relationship than one night of meaningless sex.

Some stereotypes I rather dislike:

-EVERY fangirl/fanboy is rabid.

-All overweight people think only about food.

-A woman's place is in the kitchen. (If some dude said this to me, I'd beat the living crap out of him.)

-All excitable kids are automatically diagnosed with ADD or ADHD.

-Asians are experts at math. (Granted, I'm not Asian, but I do have a few friends of Oriental descent, and they absolutely HATE this stereotype.)

-People who wear glasses are really intelligent. (Even though this would seem like a compliment, it would also mean that in a job, you would be expected to understand and solve problems within a timely manner.)

-All people who lift weights only dine on red meats or are unintelligent.

-All people labeled as "geeks or nerds" have horrible acne, speak with a lisp or wear glasses.

-All science majors are nerds.

-All people who live in rural/country areas are either stupid or farmers.

-All farmers speak with a Southern American accent.

-All people who wear black are either emo, goth, or punks. (No ALL black mind you, just a tee shirt.)

-All people who play Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon etc. are immature.

-All college students who live in dorms on campus drink, smoke, play guitar, or have sex frequently.

-All gamers are anti-social pricks who are unintelligent.

-All African Americans carry a gun.

-All Italians like pasta, or are mobsters.

-People native to Mexico are unhygienic.

-All gay people wear neon colors or carry murses.

This isn't a stereotype, but more of an observation. I find it rather interesting that a lot of people seem to confuse stereotypes with pet peeves.

I'm not talking about the big ones, like gay people talk with a lisp, or stuff like that, I mean the little ones that you run into in every day life that just plain piss you off.

My personal pet peeve is how some people react when I buy bottled water at a cafe or milk-bar, I know the stuff is no better for me then tap water (exception being that time I spent in Adelaide, as drinking that tap water is like drinking battery acid), but you know what? Sometimes I don't want sugar or caffeine I just want fresh refreshing water, I don't want milk or softdrink, just people sneer at you and start making hippy jokes about how you must expect it to be extra natural.

So what a little stereotypes that annoy you?
Never heard that before.

I often order Chocolate milk, I don't like coffee and whilst tea's great sometimes I much prefer chocolate milk in general.

Anyway beer, I hate the idea that drinking beer makes you a man, simply because... well its goddamn foul and the smell of it makes me physically sick. If others like it sweet as, but I'm fine with my Vodka/Burbon/else.

Oh it also seems to be a huge stereotype that 'hard' men drink lots here.

(no offense to any Brits, but it's sort of an American stereotype that people with British accents are super smart) beyond that the false concept that graphics aren't important.

Similarly, in England there is a north/south divide and a very strong stereotype in the north that southern accents are idiotic too and vice versa. Also, graphics aren't important.
Not that i want to cause a big arguement but i think they are important too. I'm not talking about HD graphics or anything, a well designed Megaman game can be just as appealing as SuperHDGame. It's design that matters!

Argue that HD/realistic graphics aren't important, but overall you'd be buggered if you couldn't see what was on-screen :p
I think Southern accents are sexy. :D I'd prefer them actually over the northern accents (ie. New Yorker accents, yes I'm an American) No offense to New Yorkians, but their accent just seems a bit callous from the tone and delivery of their speech.

As for graphics, they are important, IN A WAY. I think of graphics as something that more or less sells a game. Why? The same reason models sell clothing or make-up, because they look good. But if you really want immersion in the game/characters it all boils down to the story and character depth. Because if you don't have a good story or deep characters, the only thing you're really left with is a good-looking waste of time.

A more underlying one, but yeah. I've heard a lot of people (mostly parents) claim that video games rot a child's brain. Have you seen some of the *additional learning* commercials? Most of the children who get poor grades are often seen playing video games. Or when someone in my community brought home a poor grade (speaking from experience) what was the first thing taken away? Video games.

That if you play video games you're a idiot. I am A student and considered one of the smartest students in my school and nearly all of my free time is spent playing video games. This one is the one that pisses me off the most.

Just because I play first person shooters doesn't mean that I will kill everyone I know because video games turn you into a raging violent asshole.

That furries are only/mainly in it for the sex. Like anthros/cartoon animals (among...other things) but I have absolutely no interest in that aspect of furry fandom.

The "New Zealenders fornicate with sheep" stereotype pisses me off. Seriously, how did that come into being? It just seems arbitary.
In England it's the Welsh that are called that.

Of course! Didn't you know that we're all 12 years old and think of nothing but shooting terrorists, beating skanks on the street and having sex with Lara Croft?

Blondes are dumb. I am blonde and I am not dumb. and people who dye their hair blonde because" i am dumb so i should match my hair with it."

girls can't play video games. I like to freak out the staff at my local eb games because they are they type who think that girls can't they have asked me previously. " is this game a gift for your boyfriend?"

People make fun of the French for surrendering and not the polish, German, or Italians because Poland got its ass kicked in about a day, Germany got driven back to their capital by every major power while their leader killed himself, and Italy just kinda switched sides.
We make fun of those places for other things.

The stereotype that all readers of manga are in it just for the fanservice.

Also, the stereotype that anyone who likes music genre X must also like musical pariah of that genre Y ("Oh! You like metal? So, hear any good Slipnot lately?").
