Stupidest reason to shoot down a game

I had a classmate who was befuddled at the idea to play - not to mention buy - games that are older than the current generation of consoles. He thought it silly to play games on the old Xbox or PS2, and when I asked him why he more or less just said "Because they're old", which quickly turned to "they've got bad graphics".
He dropped the subject when I likened it to seeing the original Terminator despite it being even older than said games, and there being newer, shinier sequels.

I think the console thing is a good one, actually. I mean, I don't own a 360 (personally) so I might struggle playing Halo: Reach when it comes out beyond frisbee.

Saying the PS3 and its games are better then the 360 and its games because it "has more graphical power" is also one of the retarded arguments I have heard literally dozens of times.

Saying its on the Wii. I hate it when people say its all down to the Wii and it not being realistic, or not having enought graphical power. I'm getting a PS3 soon, so I'm going to do some under cover research, for years my only console has been a Wii and a PS2 (not counting hand-helds).

Funny story on that. When Mass Effect 2 was about to come out, a couple of my friends and I could hardly wait. Another guy I know saw the box cover art, and claimed that mass Effect 2 was gonna suck since the cover art was meh, in all seriousness. He's an idiot.

I don't know that many people that play online co-op.

"These Graphics look cartoony." Most often in re: to Blizzard games and League of Legends. The former aren't cartoony, they're just updated and the latter has a nice aesthetic and excellent gameplay.

Honestly, there was one game called Ayden (sp?) Chronicles: The First Mage which was the only game I considered saying was bad for graphics because it was literally impossible to tell the difference between a forest path and impassable grass.

It wouldn't be so bad if it were only 8-year-old boys bitching about lack of sarcastic quote "hardcore" content, but that's a common complaint amongst adults who were supposed to have passed through the larval stage of being overly impressed by GOOOOOORE ages ago. Yeah, I know you think you're a big man with your screen full of bloodied entrails, but some of us are secure enough in our masculinity that we know how to find joy in the few weird, quirky, somewhat cartoonish games that manage to slip out between the utterly unstimulating brown and grey brick walls of macho games we've complacently come to accept as the norm.

Well, some of us are just into that sort of thing, and like our games to have a darker, more twisted side. I'm one of these. I don't hate colors, I just like dark tones in my games, and gore is one very common, but very good way of getting that in there.

Before Dragon Age Awakening was released, someone on the Bioware forum swore that they would never buy it because Velanna has the same hairstyle as Morrigan, and therefore the developers are lazy.
