Not exactly banning, but my school has gone crazy over website blocking. So much so that you can't search "Mona Lisa" on google because "Mona" is a blocked search word. Luckily everyone knows the password to get access to an administrative account.

On my highschool, smoking wasn't allowed on school grounds. So everyone took 1 step outside of the fence and smoked. Pretty damn stupid if you ask me.
Not really, thats just so the school can wash their hands of the smokers, and if anyone complains they can just point out it didn't happen on school grounds.

Anyway, Pokemon cards. They were pure and innocent, and yet they banned 'em!

Didn't they ban Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs from the United States on the grounds that "It's like hiding something within something else, so it teaches kids about contraband".

If not that reason then for some other reason. I just know I heard that they banned them.
It's because if you give a little kid a chocolate egg with something hidden inside it (and for whatever reason not telling them there's something inside it) it's considered a choking hazard.

because of large faculty rivalries/hazing of frosh at my university, they are trying to ban
inter-faculty rivalries and make frosh week all loving and friendly.

also, the engineering frosh week leaders would wear big chains as part of their getup and also a tradition, and those chains have been banned for being intimidating when all the frosh leaders would do is wear them....

Charlie Sheen from every Tiger Enclosure in America.

I'm thirsty for some of that Tiger Blood, and if anyone can get it me, it certainly won't be Emilio, that's for sure.

Things get banned all the time. Sometimes its for legitimate reasons. Other times the reasoning behind seems to of been done by someone with half a brain.

The stupidest i can think of is when china banned football manager 05' for portraying Tibet as a country. China does a lot of stupid stuff but cmon'!
Public Nudity. What is wrong with it?
Nothing.
Nothing is wrong with that.

If I am not mistaken, it was a choking hazard or something of that nature. But they aren't banned up in o'l Canada, and some people smuggle them across the border. That is just too funny.

My old schools firewall was appalling, sure i can accept the banning games sites, but we couldn't even google Hitler, topics about race, anything that is anyway near possibly being possibly maby even controversial.

I remember back in my primary school the head teacher ban us children from forming a congo line during playtime. Don't ask us why we do it but it was fun.

Dodgeball from schools.
Kickball from schools.
Pokémon from schools.
Media players from schools (even outside of class time).
Silverware from schools.
Basically anything that schools have ever banned that wasn't drug or weapon-related.

Flat chests in Australia.
Violent video games in Australia.
Lolicon, shotacon, and all other types of porn that doesn't involve real people in any given part of the world, which means Australia again.
Half of the things banned in Australia.

Four Loko's in NYC. They probably taste like shit but dammit a another year and I could've seen for myself.

EDIT:Actually, It was banned because a girl died drinking them but she had 2+. It was and is common knowledge that having 1+ was playing with death, so this girl was just ignorant.

It isn't really a ban, but my school (Quote):

"Reserves the right to search any and all pupils at random times, due to the fear of pupils not having the correct equipment".

What?
