In Fallout 3 with low health, low ammo. Going through these abandoned buildings filled with deathclaws, refusing to leave and get supplies. Just too stubborn.

attacking the tank with melee weapons...

Actually, I've gone after Tanks with Melee Weapons dozens of times and I find it is one of the better (albeit riskiest) ways of dealing with a tank. 1 swing done in 1 second. 10 hits hills a Tank, so roughly 10 second win. Molotovs... at least 30-40 seconds. Yeah...

As for stupidest gaming thing I've done. Jumping off a stage in Smash Bros because I lost sight of my character in a high cluster-fuck. Threw a Molotov while we were all in a safe room in L4D because I thought I had switched to my Health Pack and wasn't paying attention. Bought Sims3. Didn't buy my brother's 360 when the parents were taking it away from him and selling it. ... It's a fairly good list.

In Operation Flashpoint 2: planting a few AP mines, then deciding to see if my mines would detonate on friendlies. In Hardcore mode. At the end of an EXTREMELY hard level. So I died and had to restart the level... You know what they say: curiosity (and claymores) killed the cat.
