I'm still waiting on Apophis in 2023 or whenever it's supposed to maybe hit.

He's coming to get us!We're all doomed.

Yea...chances are very low/.
You have NO idea how awesome that looked when viewed in the PM quote window. The head came from under the right panel.

Also, I'm thankful I'm a SG-1 fan, because that picture of an angry dude's head with a swimmers cap would have made NO sense what so ever.
You're right, it didn't. Although, I think I prefer it this way. There's a sort of dadaist humor to watching a .gif of some dude's face drawing steadily closer, completely devoid of context.

Well, I thought so, anyway.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry while watching this one.
laugh till you cry i say, that's just about the DUMBEST thing I've ever seen, topped only by the 'Disney is evil' video that popped up after that one, >.> don't suppose we can stop these people from breeding can we?

Hmmm... I did kind of do that, huh? Whoops. That was likely out of disappointment at the thread not being what I had hoped (see previous post regarding face-punches). Though I guess this thread may actually be interesting to some people.

[sub][sub][sub]Boring people... :p[/sub][/sub][/sub]

But for the sake of discussion, I'd always thought the the real reason these forums sucked was because of how immensely self-important everyone was. "I'm special because ______! Love me!"

And the angst. Oh, god, the angst.
Yyyyyep, pretty much. But coming back to this thread I feel foolish so please consider my attack a spur-of-the-moment incredibly misguided venting, it was nothing personal (as much as it can be on a forum anyway).

Hah, I never tire of the angst. It's like a circus to me. ;P

This game sounds rad! Rad! Rad, I say! Will there be multiplayer...you know, with a team of ships trying to take out the comet before impact? That's rad!

Too boring, didn't read. Never even knew this was a thing. Also, I'm with everyone else on the whole "lern 2 dictionary, OP" bandwagon.

I don't care if you're "quoting Yahoo". You put it in the thread title. Not Yahoo, you.

One should know the difference.
Doctor Panties, Doctor Snakeman, glad you two could provide an expert opinion on this doomsday theory.

"Rad" and "OP done goofed".

Interesting...
Oh, apologies...as an emminent scientist posting in an online games forum, I really should have put things into layman's terms, so to speak.

My term "rad" is actually an acronym for "Relative Astrological Doomsday Scenario Quotient". (I dropped the "S" and "Q" for the sake of catchiness.) Hence, "R.A.D". Get it?

By applying the term "game", I was using a common colloquialism that we astrophysicists enjoy throwing around- we refer to our field as "the cosmic game of billiards". You know, "eight ball in the corner pocket" being a euphemism for "catastrophic comet impact/Earth extinction event/game over, man, game over!".

Finally, with regards to "multiplayer" and "ships". "Multiplayer" was me attempting to be even more clever than I am right now- I was referring to multiple nations and scientific communities collaborating to address this threat- you know, "multiple players/team mates". By "ships", I was literally referring to ships (spacecraft, if you will) being deployed to fire/plant nukes directly at/on the comet. Hmmm...sounds like a good plot for a film, doesn't it?

So, in summary, you will note that I was actually completely on topic, albeit in a humourously obscure manner.

Great! Now that your comment/concern has been suitably addressed,...ahem...
"armageddon outta here!"

Heh. Ha ha! Oh, lordy...sigh.

You are a god among the men of the internet.

I tip my hat to you, as well as the hat of the man next to me.
