Suggest An Open World Game For A Bored Gamer.

Hey guys,

I think the title of this thread says it all, but allow me to expand.
Im bored as hell, due in no small part to the fact that most games ive played lately seem lacking to say the least.
So basically it comes down to this, i love open world games where i can follow the story or just go nuts. I love blowing stuff up, no seriously, you have no idea how much i love blowing stuff up, given the choice between most games ive played lately and razing an entire city to the ground id choose the later..... In a game i mean.... I mean dont expect to look out your window and see me holding a can of fuel and a lighter because that going too far even for me.
Ok, sorry, ill summarise this.

Bored gamer, want to blow stuff up in an open world game, what can you recommend.

As open world as you can get, ridiculous levels of chaos (literally) and also the grapple hook.

Might help to list what you have played, first 2 games that come to mind are Red Faction: Guerrilla and Just Cause 2. Both have a lot of mindless destruction.

Easy, Go for saints row 2 and just cause 2. Alternatively, why don't you try something new? Like silent hill or something. Games tend to be more engaging if what you have to do is clearly laid out to you. Such games include:
Stranglehold
The Club
Batman Arkham Asylum
Brother In Arms: Hell Highway

Just give it a go. I dare you.

inFAMOUS might be a good one. Also fallout 3 or NV but im not sure since there is A LOT of walking around.

It doesn't have much in terms of destructible environments, but Morrowind is the best open world game ever. You can make spells and enchantments that allow you to fly over towns, raining destruction and death with a few waves of your hands though. It's almost as gratifying. And the lore is really great to dive into if you need to get lost in a fantasy world.

If you have a ps3 you can also try Infamous and Infamous 2. Both are really fun and you get to be a big badass that just kills everything.
P.S. Pick the evil path in both.

Fallout: New Vegas is a pretty good open world game. Not having to go through as many tunnels like in Fallout 3 is really nice. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is another excellent open world game as well.
