Sorry if that went on a bit. I don't get to talk about the soundtracks as much as I would like ;)
Also the Skyrim theme is pretty epic
I've got the Peter Hollens/Lindsey Stirling cover. Somehow one voice and one violin makes it MORE epic.
I had never heard that version before so I went to look it up. While I don't deny that both Peter Hollens and Lindsey Stirling are very talented people. I don't think it's as epic as the original. The violin and background music drowns out Peter's voice too much for me.
I think it's much cleaner than the orchestra - you actually hear everything Peter sings. Also, for the sake of an epic detail, there IS no background music in that song. It's all Peter beatboxing. :D

Carl Orff Carmina Burana "O Fortuna" etc :p

ye its an hour or so....eh try this then...
I just got o fortuna, just a few epic minutes. :p
point of note: anything you do during this next song causes the universe to be saved. true story.

Already have a version, but added this too since IT'S JUST SO AWESOME.
some Samuel Barber Adagio for Strings to finish...

Not bad at all...

Epic? EPIC?
If you don't mind epic music with lyrics, I can give you more suggestions.
Shoot! I prefer no lyrics, or then latin or something, but it can't hurt. Though I did think Litany of Pain sounded more like random voice clips, which isn't what I'm looking for.

God dammit, these Youtube threads always grind my browser to a halt. Anyhoo, here are my contributions, I don't think they've been mentioned yet:

Annoyingly used in the Kony 2012 video! :/
The last half of this is pretty epic!

Mike Oldfield
From Romeo+Juliet (easily recognisable if you are British... you can't escape this on a Sat night for half the year...)
Phantom of the Opera... true classic!

Rhapsody (Now Rhapsody of Fire)
Blind Guardian... Bonus points for being about Tolkein's Middle Earth... Extra Epic! :p

Hope these help! :D

I've already gotten their rendition of In The Hall Of The Mountain King. Me gusta mucho.

Also, half a gig, and I'm not even close to finished with Mass Effect, Two Steps From Hell or Immediate music. Everything's going better than expected...

Two Steps From Hell sound like they'd be up your alley. Also 1812 Overture, gotta love Tchaikovsky.

I'm amazed no one has posted The Shattering yet. Or Arthas, My Son. Or any Warcraft melody, theme or epic for that matter.

<spoiler= Three of many>

Damn, got ninjad on Two Steps From Hell, Shoji Meguro, and Symphony X. Consider them seconded.

Aside from that, there's Nox Arcana.
From an album inspired by H.P. Lovecraft: From a Christmas-themed album: And dragons!
And Llewellyn.
Oh yeah, and Hell March.
And of course I can't talk about epic without mentioning Lost Horizon.
If you don't want to listen to the whole thing I guess you could just skip to about 10 minutes in for the best part. But why would you want to?

EDIT: Almost forgot about these two.

Der Erlkönig
First one has a translation of the lyrics, although I personally prefer the second one.
Beethoven - Piano Sonata No. 14 "Moonlight" in C sharp minor, Op. 27, No. 2
Watch the second video or skip to 8 minutes into the first video if you just want to hear the epic third movement.

I'm currently looking to add to my music collection - epic music, to be precise - in the style of Onewinged Angel, Doctor Who soundtracks and Ride of the Valkyries epic. Both game music and other scores are appreciated, of course! And it doesn't matter if it's classical orchestral or electric nose flutes, but the most fitting is in the line of what I've already mentioned. Thank you in advance!

Edit: Could a mod please move this to the off topic forum? Just realised it will be better there.
So... badass instrumental stuff, eh?

JOURNEY OF THE SORCERER, *****!

Listen to it all the way through, or taste the back of my hand!
