God I have played too many games smh. I have already played Crysis 1, it was ok. How does Crysis 2 hold up solo wise?

And Halo Reach is not on the PC..
Sorry missed the PC part. Is bulletstorm out for the PC now? Errrrrmmmmmm..... Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is quite good.

I love how everyone suggested games you said you'd already played...

I really do not care about multiplayer. I like the solo experience in a FPS game, but nowadays it's mostly crap.
I sort of agree, I absolutely love a good singleplayer experience :D I know it's not available on Steam but apparently it's freeware now, or at least that's what it said when I downloaded it. But Area 51 was a really fun experience for me, at least 10 hours of gameplay, and voiced by Mulder himself XD

Other decent Solo FPS's:

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath - I love the Oddworld games so consider me a tad biassed... But it's on Steam for only $10, got great reviews upon release, and really does have some fun interesting mechanics.

Wolfenstein - Surprisingly fun, though not much in the story department

Crysis 2 - written by my favorite author, and well worth a playthrough (or two). It's very fun and succeeds in making you feel like a stealthy badass

AVP - I wouldn't recommend this though unless you're a decent fan of the Alien movies. Because if you are, then the first 3 hours of the human campaign will be absolutely amazing. That's as far as I've played though so I can't comment on the rest of the game.

Serious Sam 1 & 2 for some seriously silly but fun action. Just listen out for... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! :p Oh and in the same vein...

Painkiller - More stupid fun. Watch Yahtzee's review.

Rainbow Six Vegas - These were actually really fun for me. Give the first one a go, the second is more of the same, but loses some of the awesomeness though so perhaps don't buy them both unless you crave more.

Hope that helps! (I highly recommend Stranger and Crysis 2!)

EDIT: OH AND THE UNREAL TOURNAMENT PACK ON STEAM IS LIKE $40! They're all pretty good too.

I didn't see Doom, Quake, Heretic or Hexen on that list. Go fix that up...

Crysis 1 and 2. Both incredibly awesome games.

DNF is due in only a few months too.

I don't have one for PC that hasn't been suggested...

But if you have a PS2?

Although it is not solo based on gunplay, Fallout 3 is an excellent Shooter RPG with a lot of content. Along with the expansions you're more likely to get 60 hours of gameplay rather then your requisted 6. It has elements of a shooter in there and there will be many times when you still wont be about to use VATS (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System) and will be forced to muster your shooting capabilities! ;D It's great for the PC and I believe you will enjoy it a lot, espeacially if you enjoy a great RPG as well! :)

Dead Space 2 (although i myself would play 1 first).both have awesome campaigns but theyre third person. If you're looking for something that's REALLY different i would get Amnesia:the dark descent. For a very long campaign try Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic, again a third person but very good. I agree that first persons never really have decent campaigns, it can be quite frustrating. If you haven't already got it try Portal 2.Other than that and the one's already mentioned you'll have to wait for Battlefield 3.

Actually, upon examination all of my previous suggestions are on Steam except for Condemned, which is the one I really wanted you to try (well, I think I wanted you to try Republic Commando more but shut up) which makes little sense to me considering SEGA will put Ristar (an excellent game mind you) a game for the Genesis/Mega Drive but a game made for the pc and 360 isn't there

I'd check out Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas if I where you. If you dont like those I can suggest either Bioshock or Deus Ex (maybe wait for Human Revolutions release in August), just avoid Deus Ex Invisible War, that wasnt so good, but the thirst Deus Ex is god damn amazing. Speaking of it, I guess i'll go play it one more time. If your PC can handle it, Crysis 1 or 2 might be an option. Both are great solo games, but you just need a mosnter of a PC to play them. A last resort could be TES: Oblivion, but its not much of a shooter, but it's still pretty damn fun, especially with mods (same goes for Fallout). I can show you are site with mods for Fallout 3 and Oblivion if you like, it has everything. PM me if you want
