You don't continue to play wih someone else's world if they offer you to sit down and play some Sim city, you start your own. So, end current world, start anew.

Actually, come to think of it, you do play around in other people's worlds. Mostly by testing what all the different catastrophe buttons do...

World beware...

I would just change things slowly over time. make a few new species of plant/ fungus that'll somehow cure a few serious viruses and make a new albeit initially rare new materiel that'll give off clean energy it'll have be rare at first so hopefully it won't collapse the economy and it'll only be found in stable countries first.

I'd instantly pass the power off to someone way better than me.

Knowing me, I'd abuse it. Things that I'd probably end up doing:
1) go all Death Note on the world and start killing "bad" people
2) ruin the careers of Justin Beiber, Rebecca Black, Chris Brown, Nickleback, and Skrillex
3) get everything I've ever wanted (including, but not limited to: a Ferrari, a playset of foil Japanese Jace the Mind Sculptor, and a jetpack)
4) make the life of this girl that I hate a living hell
5) randomly turn people's Coke into Moose Piss (or pepsi)
6) become Batman

Yep, there are definitely other people that are more qualified for infinite power than I am.

Not do a single thing with it. It's generally best to let most problems sort themsevles out. Maybe I'd go make a new planet with new creatures on it and amuse myself by playing Spore on a grand scale for a few million years.

I would first deny my own existence for about two years, and after that just settle on me being an agnost, because I don't know what's real anymore due to losing my FUCKIN mind.

After that, interstellar space travel, and introducing magic as a 5th elemental force. WHOO!
I'd probably go with magic to. Except like really complicated magic that seems to follow the laws of the universe so that people would still be frustrated trying to figure it out.

I'm kind of a prick.
No man, magic is supposed to be hard. We don't want kids to tear up te reality we worked so hard on creating!

Bring back Firefly, Cliff Burton, and the old Facebook. Then I would erase the Jersey Shore and the Star Wars prequels from existence.

Then I'd give my powers to Ron Paul.

Tweak certain constants just for fun. Gravity, speed of light, strong and weak force, Planks. See how much I can screw things up. See if I can get the entire universe to explode at the speed of light. Um, I can reset things by going back in time, right?

1.Burn One Direction and Justin Bieber for heresy
2.Unite all the country/states with North or South in their names because "No, you two will play nice"
3.Money Rain every Friday that dissolves into applesauce if you don't grab it fast enough
4.Legalize the drugs that aren't terrible, like weed. (It's All Natural)
5.Regrow some nature because we need it.
6.Stop global warming and refreeze the bits of polar ice cap that melted
7.Put the dictators of the world in a bio-dome under the earth where they will fight to the death for our amusement
8.Set anyone who thinks trying to regulate the internet with a SOPA/PIPA/CISPA like plan will work on fire
9.Free pancakes every Monday
10.World Peace

and that's the first 10 things I'd do with infinite power in no particular order.

Create a Babel Fish. Then quickly hand him back the keys.

But since i'm a Buddhist, i'd explain to him why he isnt god and then walk off.

Honest not a think. It would be like having a child. Do to much and the child becomes dependant. Think those daddy girl who can't hold a job and spend daddy money. Do you want humanity to be like that.

On the other hand if you do nothing at all people lose faith and hope.

To quote god talking to bender
"Do something right and people won't be sure you've done anything at all."

well first I would walk -with awesome music blasting- into my friends church click my fingers -dont need to click them but this god likes style- and replace every pic of Jesus with me then broadcast my face and face into everyone mind and tell them I dont hate gays and care not of sin and look forward to how they will progress with science Then I will give my human friends powers -becuase why not- and watch as a new era of peace and human achivement happens also would make pluto a planet
then i would say i am not the old god and i care not for his laws -would also make every a lil bit smarter

also repair the damage to the earth and refill the natural resources -and tell them not to fuck it up this time -

Besides the whole "Fix the world and try to make it as a happy a place as possible", I'd make it a point to manifest out of some random object whenever some idiots uses the word "because it's God's will" and yell "My will? You jackasses have free will for a reason, MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN DECISIONS".
And, ya know, try not to be a loving deity who drops anyone in Hell who doesn't follow his rulebook to the letter.
hell, i'd rewrite the Bible to 3 rules and 3 lines only:
1) Don't be a c*nt!
2) Enjoy life to the fullest!
3) If I didn't want you to be who you are, you wouldn't be that way!

......

Come to think of it, it would be a toss up between that and remaking the planet into a Brütal Legend-ish Metal paradise.

At least in terms of decisions effecting the rest of you poor earthbound peons... There are almost certainly plenty of other changes I would make elsewhere in the universe.

1.) Redesign the species here on Earth, humanity in particular. Not necessarily to the point that the final product is unrecognizable, but I could name hundreds of critical design flaws I would prefer to correct. I'd also toy around with the idea of uplifting a few other species to full sentience, but would require significantly more information first.

2.) Create a series of superconductive space elevators to be exploited for both energy production and transportation.

3.) Create a functionally unassailable station that automatically and unerringly prevents anyone from using weapons beyond a specific destructive limit (all types of wmds would qualify, as would most major explosives), its secondary function would be to stave off major environmental disasters (IE super volcanoes and major meteor crashes). Its not there to prevent all ills, just to keep matters from getting out of hand.

4.) Set up an afterlife system not at all based on faith. Those who live good lives (with the primary definition of "good" simply being the ethic of reciprocity) can spend as long as they like in a place of peace and tranquility, with the option of at any time being reborn again in the "real" world with vague nonspecific memories of their former self. Those who don't do so undergo temporary remedial punishment before joining the rest, with the worst punishments being for those who abuse power, especially power of the religious variety.

5.) Most importantly, after this is done, I tell everyone, in person, what the rules are and to not expect any further involvement from me, in terms of either assistance or interference, much less some future apocalyptic scenario. I would prefer to prevent religions springing up around me entirely, but suspect that it would be an uphill battle to do so without warping everyone's mind.

6.) Retire, at least so far as Earth is concerned. I've no interest in being some kind of overlord, and would prefer that humanity finds its own path to greatness rather than shoving them along myself.
