The original Red Steel, that got panned by critics for some reason, I personally love the game, and I never found the controls difficult to use, even if all of my friends did!

Mercenaries 2, I loved the vehicles and airstrikes and being able to earn money and purchase any in game vehicle, including tanks and massive helicopters.

Cel Damage: Overdrive

So much fun, so much awesome weapons, so many funny characters and cutscenes. Sadly, after you've unlocked everything, there's really nothing else to do, but it's still mindless fun.
Who dared call that game shitty? I must find and beat them.

OT: Devil Kings. The first game I played where you can kill over 3000 people in under half an hour, so it has the nostalgia factor for me as well.

Frontier, elite.

Soooo old, the graphics are so poor and the AI near non existent but the series was probably the first ever sandbox world and it had such depths that has yet to be topped. If it was remade with better graphics, AI, economy and so and so. It could be big.

Sadly they will want to turn it into a MMO somehow.
Frontier was considered "shitty"? I spent so much time playing that when I was a kid. I was only about 10 so I didn't really understand it all but I had a blast with that at the time.

White Knight Chronicles. Sure, i was exrememly easy, short, and the story was extremely cliche in the "Mario saves the princess" sense, but I still really enjoyed it.

Hand it to any 10 year old from today's era and tell them to play it... they probably won't even touch it with a ten foot pole it is that 'bad' by current stick-up-the-arse standards. Goddess, I would love to see it remade properly, expanded on a little too because there is so much potential there for a true sandbox sci-fi setting.

Did you try any of the X games at all? I had X2 myself and it was a good substitute for a new Elite for a while. There is a storyline but it can be ignored while you do your own thing. After I started builidng my own starbases and automating supply ships it started to get a bit complex for my liking but starting out was quite entertaining.

For hours I would play loony tunes space race. I finally won the game after 2 years of on and off play. I was actually somewhat sad they day I deleted the save data.

For me currently its Star Wars The Force Unleashed or SWTFU for people who can only read confusing acronyms.

I'm a sucker for games based on fantasy books (Companions of Xanth, Shannara, Wheel of Time) and love playing those.

I'm also a devotee of Zork games, even if others think they suck. (Return to Zork, Zork Nemesis, Zork Grand Inquisitor)

But for console games, I'd have to say Magna Carta and The Bard's Tale. MC had a fascinating combat system that you loved or hated, and BT had an awesome sense of humor.

/it's bad luck to be you

Oniichimbara:
The game literally translates to Big Sister Bikini Zombie Slayers.
Ill give you one guess what the game is all about on 360.

I'm currently playing through the .hack//G.U. games and they aren't anywhere near as bad as they're made out to be.
