Swearing on XBL

I personally have no problem with swearing over XBL (as a matter of fact, at times I have a mouth like a platoon of grizzled American troopers with beards and facial scars) just as I have no issue with swearing in most places.

Yet again I have to apply my theory that while harsh language is not something to be frowned upon for any reason (they're only words, I'm hoping that most people are mature enough to not let it get to them) but there are times when it is best to be polite and discreet (such as when children are present and around family/significant others).

What I'd like to know is where are the parents when little Bobby is having a cursing rage attack on his console, man if that was me back in the day.. I'd be getting throttled :O

We just have to have kids and train their generation again the extreme retardation kids seem to think they can get away with now.

i wish there was like a kid's headset where it just censored everything they said so you could laugh at them attempting to be cool.
i dont swear on XBL at all unless something takes me by surprise
if they do swear and it bugs you mute them and send a report, or just mock them in a calm voice - simple and fun when they lose the arguement

keep in mind that few ps3 owners have mics, and that you were playing Gears. I dont experience it that much ever since NXE came into existence, since i spend a lot of time in party chat.

i never used to use my mic then my friend asked me to use it and i had to unmute all the tards so i could talk. then they go making fun of me and im not the one to take that i throw it back at em. so yes but im going to remmute them all so i never have to hear them again. ive never started any arguements but i tend to finish them and yes it bugs me dearly them all and since that one day i made the 8 year old cry by telling him to study his spelling test ive never used my mic. its just better for them and me that i dont make them cry and just let teh babies be babies

I simply love riling up those preteens you find on so many XBL games. They blow their top over the simplest things, it's beautiful.
This is pretty much the way I feel about it too. I play to have fun, and one of my favorite ways of doing that is to kill people who get angry over and over, usually as cheaply as possible, until they start screaming into the mic. I keep my TV's speakers on the room chat channel and my mic on party chat, so I can still effectively communicate with team mates while laughing my butt off at the overreacting kid on the other team.

I swear a lil on XBL, but only when the situation demands it (Get "noob tubed" up the ass by a member of my own team) but I don't swear AT people. I swear to the game in general, and even then, a lot of the time I will take the time to mute my own mic, swear a bunch, and then turn it back on and get into the game

Two things:
1: Play in party chat. Suddenly, everything's fine!
2: Use the mute function, either for everyone or just those that annoy you. Suddenly, everything's fine!

On the other hand, I like to mock the idiots. The pre teens are the most fun because they'll try to outwit you, with hilarious results!

OP has never played Halo. Makes the Gears community look like Portal players.
Personally don't ever have much of a problem with halo players worst community i've found is on COD, heaven forbid I ever use a gun that can kill someone quickly instead of my super awesome modded pistol >_>.
Very, very true. You only get fucktards on Halo if you venture into the social playlists, and even then you can mute them.

Seriously though, you really only get idiots in Halo if you venture into stuff like social big team. I stick to social skirmish, it's a lot more fun.

It happens a lot. I was playing UNO on XBL and there was some girl on there cursing every other word. Why she felt the need to trash talk over a game of UNO I have no idea.
Don't you know? Uno is a serious business!

Whenever someone would swear at me i would say the most sadistic things to them. I would also say that i knew where they lived (or that i could easily find out) and then say sadistic things. It makes most of them shut up. I love scaring people.

For all the crap XBL gets I really don't find it to have a very high concentration of pricks. I mean sure if you just play halo 3 online it may seem like it does, but then again I could just play WC3 TFT online all day and say that 90% of PC gamers are 13 year old ass holes with no chance of ever getting laid.

It's strange actually, it almost seems like a universally accepted fact that XBL has more dick heads and little kids than any other platform, but I encounter way more squeaky voiced douche bags on PSN than XBL.

Oh and if it seems like you encounter more jerks on XBL than PSN, it's because nobody on PSN has a mic.

The Jerks on PSN (without mics) will go out of their way to show they are jerks by sending you message after message of meaningless shit, but even then it's rare. The jerks with mics are still few and far between. As for the theory there is less asswipes on PSN than XBL, its not entirely true, its less obvious what kind of people you're playing with until they make it blatantly obvious.

Sometimes I think it's better than PSN didn't come with mics.

I remember letting one of my 12 year old cousin's friends play UT3 on my PC, on a server with skilled players and Instagib/Speed Freak activated. He owns an Xbox and is a frequent XBL player.

He was getting killed once every 7 seconds (Quite literally) and thank god the server had disabled mics, because needless to say, every time he was killed he would yell "Shit!", "Fag!", "FUCK YOU!" or a creative combination of the three, thinking the mic was on.

I don't swear in excess, just because I think it's 'cool'. But I will swear at the game in general if I die from a stupid mistake or get team killed.

XBL is full of morons. I mean, bursting and pulsating with ignorant, ridiculous, arrogant fuckheads.

I would honestly pay twice as much for my account if they provided an 18-and-over only server where you had to produce proof of your age before you could log into it. I'm so tired of these little 13 year olds telling me to go fuck a couch. It's driving my back to PC gaming.
