OH NO!!!! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!! THIS IS THE NEW MAD COW EPIDEMIC!!!

Oh wait.....only 20 people in America got it?
Well then I'd have to be utterly retarded to get all nervous about that, I mean the odds are less than 0.0000001% to get it.

The only reason the media is freaking out about it is because of the deaths in Mexico when in the U.S. the first cases that were found were treated. The reason people died in Mexico is because nobody can afford to go to the hospital. And for you hypocondriacs, the virus will probly just mutate into a harmless form just like spainish influenza did.
The only reason the media is freaking out is because of RATINGS.

Remember our Mad Cow 'epidemic'?

Safe as usual in good old invincible Australia.

I think this will blow over soon enough, if it gets more serious then it will get lots of media hype like SARS did then it will disappear.
Hellz fuckin' yeah! (I can swear, right?)

lol you dont live anywhere near mexico, calm the hell down. Remember how panicked everyone got about SARS only for a few weeks to pass by and no one but the asians still cared? I live 3 hours from mexico and im not taking it that seriously.
I'm not suggesting that everyone panic, but am suggesting people become aware. People do travel to mexico for vacations and they do come back to your neighborhood, so your not as isolated as you may think. My wife and I are both in the medical professions and we do know of people who came down with SARS. One is back to work and the other has passed away :(

I'm happy that you feel comfortable and not taking it seriously. It's quite OK with me. But with first hand expeience with SARS, not only it's devistating effects on peoples health, but economic hardship as people don't visit or do business in these areas, you may not want to tempt the faits to much.

People in my area are gearing up for it, but it doesn't take much as we have processes in place that we use daily, that we have learned from the SARS experience.

Respectfully to the person I quoted, and to all others reading this post.

A new flu virus suspected of killing at least 60 people in Mexico has the potential to become a pandemic, the World Health Organization's chief says.

Margaret Chan said the outbreak was a "serious situation" which needed to be followed closely.

Health experts say tests so far seem to link the illnesses in Mexico with a swine flu virus in the southern US.

A top US health official said the strain of swine flu had spread widely and could not be contained.

Ms Chan cut short a visit to the US and returned to Geneva where the WHO's emergency committee met.
It is time for all hypocondriacs like myself to unite, and spend a few weeks hiding in our bedrooms with pillow-cases over our heads while detergent is continually sprayed over our food. Anyone else heard anything about this flu out-break?
This is completely not a ploy by Jews such as myself to weaken and enslave you lesser races.

Enjoy your BLTs.

There are currenty two strains floating around people right now. The first is in Mexico, and has 60 confirmed fatalaties.

The second strain in the US is much weaker, and the 12 people who have it have all survived.

This strain of the flu cannot survive proper preperation of cooked pork products, so bacon is still safe.

They have drugs to treat it so it's all good. If it isn't I'll be moving to Madagascar before their shipyards close - the next time someone coughs.

If pandemic 2 has taught me anything, it's that I need to get my ass to Madagascar before they close the damn port.

I don't think it'll pose to much of a threat. Maybe a small scale epidemic, but there's no way it'll turn into a full blown pandemic. They thought that might happen with SARS and the Avian Flu, and it didn't.

Next, it'll be Cat flu or Worm flu, I swear...
THE FIJI FLU!

Oh rocket power and my childhood.
