Guys lets not make light of a death, that's incredibly disrespectful.
Yes, the fucking corpse sure cares.

Death is funny.

And to add to the collection of bad puns...

What a lady killer! Although from what I gather, he used a rather curved blade. Guess the penile system will have to take care of him, now.
I'm sure her mourning family cares, ever think of that? If your sister/brother/mother/father died and somebody made a joke out of it would you be saying "Death is funny"?
Yes, I would. I'd probably hug the person who made the joke. I do not discriminate. When I die, if I was still capable of feeling or knowing anything, which isn't the case given the non-existence of some kind of post-mortem life, that'd a bit of an oxymoron, I'd be fucking happy if someone made comedy out of that. Same applies to everyone else.

Right, you'd hug the person who made a funny out of the fact you'll never get to say any last words to the person, never see them, or enjoy a moment with them again. Right.

show some respect, a man gave his life protecting the people around him. because of him, they are still alive. He's a hero. i think that is enough to not make porn jokes.

They'll be dead whether someone made a joke out of it or not. Comedy is never a bad thing, you're taking life far too seriously.

To quote the truly awesome Monty Pythons,

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

There's a difference between trying to lighten the mood and being a dick to people who don't want to hear your insensitive jokes. I may be making puns, but I would never say them to any of the people who were actually affected by that guy's death.

I wasn't aware I was publicly broadcasting my crude jokes straight from the location of the funeral of the guy.

If it's their own event, they can limit all they want as long as they don't force it on other people. But considering that I'm neither present at the funeral nor am I actively harassing the family, I don't see the problem. I'm going to say whatever the fuck I want, and if you're offended, well, you can say plenty of nasty things about me, I don't quite care.

I do not share the apparently common values and beliefs regarding death, and I am going to stand by my beliefs and opinions.

Death happens anyways, so be fucking happy about it. Don't lie to yourself your whole life that everyone you love is going to live forever. No, they're sentenced to die the same way you are, so quit deluding yourself and accept death as something inevitable, at the time. Enjoy life and laugh at death, it's going to happen anyways, and crying won't help ya or anyone else. Know that everything is dated and maybe you'll cry less about things and people going away.

I'm just saying, your comment that you would joke around the deceased's family is incredibly insensitive.

I don't care about being insensitive. I wouldn't mind if someone joked around my family if there was a death in it, and while I have enough reason not to interrupt people's private events like funerals without any invitation (or meaning, for that matter) it doesn't mean I'm going to self-censor myself.

I don't mind having that done to me, and I'm not going to censor myself in front of people who think that death is a sacred subject (Nothing is holy or sacred.) the same way I'm not going to censor myself in front of Fundamentalist Muslims for being, well, a heathen heretic, or the same way I'm not going to censor myself in front of some vegan nuts because I'm a meat eater and loving it.

Interpersonal relations: say what you want with no regard for whether others share your worldview.

Not caring if you hurt someone's feelings is one thing, but usually not pissing people off for no good reason is a socially beneficial thing unless you like being "that antisocial bastard".

They'll be dead whether someone made a joke out of it or not. Comedy is never a bad thing, you're taking life far too seriously.

To quote the truly awesome Monty Pythons,

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
[/quote]
always look on the bright side of death
just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

i felt i had to add more of the song
that song summarizes my opinion of this thread and although i do not have a joke to add there is some humor to their deaths, sucks they died but the rest of us live on so why not celebrate in joyus moods then have bad moods over their deaths

There are plenty of people who share my feelings.

A compromise is a compromise, but given that I don't know the family of the dude kind of leaves that point moot. I don't know them, I don't care about them.

And pissing people off for ideological reasons is a great thing to do. We've been doing it as a race for, like, ever.
