I'm gonna go with "all of them." I sold my TV in 2006 and the only thing I miss watching is live sports---ESPN3.com is only good for so much.

Although speaking of live sports, that's probably going to change when I move home to Boston in 2 years---I'll have to get a TV so I can watch Sox/Pats/C's/B's games.
the sox have been a bit cringe worthy this season :(

OT: family guy, kind of the office

SIMPSONS. I still watch my VHS tapes of the early seasons. Family guy like a lot have said. What about 24??? First few seasons were awesome but how many times can you do the SAME THING.

I've almost given up on South Park. It has maybe 1 good episode to 5 tolerable ones now.

Stargate: Atlantis - I didn't like at first. Vampire wraith who suck out your life force in the Sci-Fi universe of Stargate? Might as well have fairies too. Not a good fit. Once I got used to them though, I liked it.

Stargate: Universe - I wanted so much to like it, but the writing was just soooooo bad. I watched 3 episodes before giving up. That ship is around for how many hundred thousand years, but darn their luck, they just happen to get on it when there's just a few days of air left. What are the odds? Also, the body switching with absolutely no regard for the owner of the bodies on Earth was ridiculous. They get totally drunk & let the other person worry about the hangover. One guy even has sex with his estranged wife while in the other guy's body. I could go on, and on, and on... They were trying to change the tone & style of Stargate, and they succeeded. It went from well written sci-fi to poorly written soap opera.

Heroes - I saw most of the 1st season on a sci-fi channel marathon. It ends every episode on a climax/cliff hanger, and I was always like "NO! There better be another episode after this one!" I haven't watched it since. It was a great show, but I absolutely hated how they ended. I wouldn't want to go through that every week.

Heroes. The first season was good and well paced (I would reccomend to a lot of people). The second season was interesting but not awesome (but I chalked it up to the fact it was in the middle of the writers strike). Season three was a bit punishing to me. The pacing was off and the plot wasn't very clever (unless characters changing loyalties every second episode counts as good plot). So I haven't watched it since.

Funny the Dexter people. I thought the fist season was a bit ho-hum and I only kept watching because I found the central character interesting. The second season was a vast improvement with Dexter actually having to pit himself against his own colleagues (although the plot with the other love interest was a bit silly but then a lot of season 1 was too). I say its interesting because this has split my friends as well. Some prefer the first and some the second - although all now think season 4 is the best so that must have done something right.

I'm going with Family Guy. Sure, it's always been stupid, but in the beginning, it was stupid with style. Now it's just plain stupid.
Exactly this. I love my first few seasons worth of Family Guy, but it hasn't been consistently funny in ages. Another show I've stopped caring about is House. It was cool for a while, but the fact that things never really changed or developed, and I never really cared about any of the major characters, meant that I got tired of it.

Now while I can't exactly claim an anime as a tv show in the same context exactly here, I still think it warrants a small mention. One series in particular, Welcome to the NHK, from the first few episodes gave the impression of being one of the best animes I ever could conceive of watching, but as time went on, the plot became more convoluted and horrendous, and eventually withered away. I didn't give up on the show, because it was only 14 (I think, may have been around that, possibly more) episodes long, but by the end, I was glad to see it done and buried forever, so that I would never have to lay awake at night, wondering if there was some kind of grand conclusion I missed.

So if anyone likes anime, feel free to watch the first seven episodes of Welcome to the NHK, then use your imagination to write the rest of the story out on your own, or risk being terribly disappointed.

I think Heroes is the only show I ever was hardcore about and then gave up on. They'll always have that first season, though.

I gave up on TV, except for the ones I can watch an entire season "on demand" in one day.

I do remember giving up on some shows for no reason though, like Simpsons, South Park, Star Trek Voyager, Mythbusters...okey, for that one I blame countless reruns & new episodes only being on at a time that didn't work with my schedual.

Simpsons, Family guy, Heroes, Prison break, Dexter (got as far as season 3, which sucked) and loads of others. Too many shows go downhill...

I love SG:U. I think the writing is fine, and it did get better after an admittedly shaky start where they were trying to hold everything up using Robert Carlyle. As for the complaints you make, I could counter them with how they work, but I'm too lazy, and if you think it's bad writing, I doubt I'll be able to change your mind. Oh well.

OT: I know a couple of others have mentioned it, but I'm going to have to say House. I loved the original cast and as soon as they started messing with it (when Foreman left), I stopped watching altogether. I know they came back and what-not, but it wasn't the same. I still love seasons 1-3, though. Also, X-Play. I love Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb works well with him... and it no longer has humor or creativity. Not to mention the damned news segment and interviews that I couldn't care less about, that's what AOTS is for. I want more stuff like X-Play the Musical. I still have that saved to my DVR.
