The games been out for nearly four years and has been sold for less than ten dollars on few occasions. Can't really complain if you waited until now to purchase it.

I guess at least similar complaints won't be as stupid as those complaining about the Mann Co. Store's ability to make people over powered.

Anyways, I kind of wanted some more achievements for the item unlocks this update, but oh well.
Really have to get the sniper's rifle.

Industry trade website Develop-Online has revealed in an interview with Valve?s Robin Walker that Team Fortress 2 is now permanently free to play, and will solely be supported by in-game item purchases.

TF2′s switch to F2P was rumored and expected, but perhaps not this soon. Walker says that Valve had been exploring the idea since September 2010. ?We?ve been toying with the idea of making Team Fortress free-to-play ever since the Mann-conomy update,? Prior to today, Team Fortress 2 was in the middle of a ?free week.? The game?s Über Update should deploy later this evening.

Well people who are free only get 50 items max in Backpack, and cannot trade. Though they can be given stuff through trades as gifts. Because of this EVERY single fucking game I was in in the last hour had the free player noobs begging for items. This is going to be a fun few weeks for us veterans. *Sarcastic*

I'm kinda annoyed about this. Not because of it being free to play, but because of how it treats people who bought it. According to the FAQ, if you bought the game but never made a Mann Co. purchase, you're still considered as a free player so it strips down what we already had. But Hey! I get a cool hat! Oh that makes it alllll better. >.>

The FAQ says bought the game OR made a Mann Co. purchase so you'll have a premium account right off the bat.

I bought this game about a month ago.

If I waited for one damn month!

You'd have to pay to get upgraded and wouldn't get the spiffy hat or access to rares, etc.

As for F2P,I was a little skeptical at first. But as long as random drops don't stop, who cares? Plus, everyone who actually bought the game gets a HAT. Woo hats.

Interesting melee for soldier, probably won't beat the good old EQ though
an insane shotgun for air-shooting soldiers

A sniper which REWARDS accurate shooting instead of gimping it
triple jump for scout @ 10HP cost
scout's new pistol sounds shitty
Don't play spy at all
A ridiculously OP minigun, just looking at the stats, that's gonna get nerfed guaranteed.
