The "Am I the only one" this is a bunch of bull, but it may actually apply here.

Am I the only one who plays TF2 on the 360 on this site?

Wow. Just... wow.

I bought Orange Box for the xbox360 today. Actually, I initially bought it on release day so I could play Portal... so I technically re-bought it. Back then there was barely a person playing Team Fortress 2 so I gave it a miss. However, having heard numerous endorsements of the game, and assuming that the amount of people playing might have picked up, I bought another copy.

What. A load. Of balls. I've been trying to play for the last few hours, but have now thrown in the towel - it's rubbish. It's like the original, TFC, but slow, with a total of about 4 maps - only one of which supports CTF- , and whining American children requiring mass-muting at the beginning of every game.

Am I doing it wrong? Have I missed something? Or is this genuinely a terrible game? I realise that the PC version has more support from Valve... but can the 360 version be so different? I'm not sure what my enquiry is with this post... but someone please explain - I'm feeling somewhat bewildered and perplexed!!
yes the pc and xbox version is like a big mac and apples they are completely different I still play the xbox version because I have a friend to play with and the game is very confusing at the beginning. i never heard a kid shouting down the mic while playing maybe you would like to play with me and my friends and you may find it fun :)

Well, drop in the bucket at this point, but yeah; the PC version is the one that everyone and their step-grandmother seem to love. They are pretty much two completely different games.

If you want to see if you like the game everyone else does, get the PC version. Even then, you may not like it, and that's cool, but you should probably be comparing apples to apples here.

If you aren't a troll, you might want to be a little more objective in your critiques, and less ambiguous overall. The "I don't know what my inquiry is here" bit also might indicate you know, and are counting on, the fact that the topic title will start a flame war all on its own. Anywhere else, maybe, but as you may have determined by now, this site is mostly comprised of people on the "like team fortress 2" side of the fence; so instead of a flame war, it was just buckets of water squelching the dissenting spark.

I've found you're problem.
This is more accurate than you'd think.
I've played the 360 version of TF2 exactly once.
I'll never do it again.
And yes, it's balls.

The gameplay is shit in comparison.
It's like the game is in slow motion, with the time it takes to just turn around with a pad.
Not to mention the community...
On the servers I generally play on in the PC version, people actually talk to each other.
They joke around and even compliment impressive kills.
In contrast, you get called 'gayfag' by the live community.

It was a mistake to ever port it to the 360, because it's completely different.

Blasphemy!! *Splashes ThatJagoGuy with Jarate* It's definitly the Xbox 360, I play on PC and it's waaaay more mature and there's also the map-making software so there's also new types of maps (My favorite is the Airship Race V1), but I don't own an Xbox 360 so I don't know. Forgive me for seeming like I comment on something without knowing about it but I've rarely run into Mountain Dew-drinking 11-year-olds who scream at you on PC. Just Mountain Dew-drinking 17-year-olds who yell at you for not doing your "Medic" job.

I don't believe the 360 has gotten any of the 9 (!) content updates the PC version has. Each update had 2-3 maps, new weapons/achievements and balance/gameplay changes.

Add on community maps and mod support and that you can play on a gamepad if you REALLY want to (I don't know why you would, but that's beside the point) and....

DING DING DING, the only platform you should play tf2 on is PC. The 360 version has no advantages and about two thirds of the content cut out.

Not to sound elitist or trollish but the problem is you bought the game for a console. This is a game that is much better on PC with much more content so yes your only mistake is you bought it for the xbox.

TF2 for xbox:
6 maps, no unlockables, no updates.
game modes:
CTF, CP.

TF2 for PC
30 maps (With dozens and dozens of user made ones)
3 or 4 unlockable weapons per class
350 achievements
hats hats hats
King of the Hill
pc game modes:
Payload
Payload race
dodgeball
highlander
CTF
CP
etc.

See the difference?

You didn't get the PC version. It makes all the difference in the world.

Sadly, yes, I am serious.

Yeah, all the reasons you gave for not liking the game, those can all be attributed to you buying the 360 version and not the PC version. And I know I've been ninja'd about eighty billion times by now, but this really does need that many reiterations. Unless you're a troll, in which case I would encourage you to eat shit and die.

I don't believe the OP was trying to be a troll. He tried a game, found that his experience was not as enjoyable as others claimed it would be, and asked his peers about it. I'm pretty sure everyone has played a game that "everyone" loves, but they didn't. Personally, I've never liked GTA. Sure, it's fun to get a friend and case chaos and destruction wherever you go, but aside from that I think it's offensive and boring, like if the Godfather where directed by a twelve-year-old.
Put your torches and pitchforks away, people. False alarm.

I played it on the PC. I'm not a fan of multiplayer, but I gave it a try. To me, it's just a cartoonized Battlefield game with deathmatch.

Well I bought it on 360 and love it, so I guess I'm retarded or something.

Yeah, there are only 6 maps and only one game type for each one, and there hasn't been a single major update for three years, and there are a lot of young, immature people on there, but it's still a lot of fun to me.

Though I've been thinking, do you guys think it'd be worth picking up again on PC next time it's on sale?

The problem here is one you are playing with people on xbox live so it will always be little kids no matter the game and you are also missing 3 years of updates on the game.

PS if you are gunna troll don't be so fail you could have just made a I love twilight thread instead of making yourself looking like an unlearned fag

I'd imagine that TF2 on the 360 would be like Halo 3 on the gameboy
