I rarely pick favorites, so I'll list off a fact or two about some of my top ones, see if anyone can guess them.

They got their name from a lake where a series of murders transpired.

(Easy) They kicked Dave Mustaine out for drinking too much.

They've gone through four vocalists, and are planning to release a new album with their second and my favorite) singer. Also, they teamed up with Public Enemy for a song.

See if you can guess any of them.
Children of Bodom (who are awesome)

Metallica (duh)

I dunno.

Also, Dream Theater did a song for GoW 3? Awesome.

OT: Demon Hunter is a Christian Metal band and the singer (who can sing really well) usually has a killer beard. Is that interesting enough?
Last one is Anthrax. They'd be my favorite if they just had kept Belladonna on, he was much funnier than the others, and wrote more memorable songs. The value minded part of me likes that John Bush tended to write more per album, but he wasn't as good. Also, he had his own band, Armoured Saint, so he didn't need to go fucking about with Anthrax. All Belladonna got was a solo career, and he only made a couple albums, one of which is terrible.

Also, they seemed to have better riffs when Belladonna was around. I still don't know why they kicked him out...
When they played Sonisphere this year they had Belladonna as the singer and they were awesome. Really enjoyable set.

I have 2 favourite bands. One for metal, one for punk.

Uhh... for Iron Maiden they have a mascot, Eddie, who's been on every album and single cover.

Bad Religion's easier. The singer, Greg Graffin has a PhD and is a lecturer at the University of California.

My all time favourite band is Gorillaz :) This is odd because they're a virtual band..
But according to their book the singer lost both of his eyes, the drummer was expelled from Xaviers' School for being possessed by the soul of a rapper, the bassist is a keen Satanist who lives in a Winnebago and the guitarist is a 13 year old girl from Japan who arrived in England in a FedEx crate.

You know Bruce is an airline pilot as well as a singer, right?
And a professional level fencer. But everyone knows that.

Well, both members of the White Stripes are not brother and sister. They used to be married. They also go to random areas while they are on tour and play random concerts like bowling alleys and boats.

The lead singer purposely makes the concerts harder on himself by playing old and nearly useless guitars.

The drummer is terrible.

All of the members of Rise Against are either vegetarian or vegan.
they are also straight edge

^^that counts as my fact
Well, Brandon's not straight edge, but he's still facken' awesome. As is the band.

Lostprophets is written all as one word (despite what the record label and the BBC think), originated as a side project from a hardcore punk band, the singer was originally a drummer, the bassist originally produced their first few EPs, including Para Todas las Putas Celosas, which translates as "For All The Jealous Whores". They are signed to an independent label and self-produced their last album.
I know too much.

My current favourite band:

They have 5 singers and a drummer and that is the only instrument. The cover of Fear Of The Dark is amazing.
Van Canto?

Abingdon Boys School is named after the school Radiohead formed at. Their second album, Abingdon Road, is named after the road adjacent to the school.

The Devil Wears Prada named themselves after the book, before the movie came out, assuming it was about anti-materialisation (without ever reading it). When the movie came out, they learned this was not the case. Also, they are Christian

Facts about In Flames: Their drummer Daniel Svensson likes to run around naked while they're in studio, and has a drunk alias known as Leinad. The singer Anders Fridén is also an avid whisky collector.

That's random enough, right?

The Iron Maiden song "To Tame a Land" was about Dune. They wanted to give the song the same name but Frank Herbert (author of Dune) hated metal and Iron Maiden in particular, so he threatened to sue the band if they used the name.
It's kind of obvious if you look at the lyrics. Also, adding to that, Bruce Dickinson is also an airline pilot, author and was invited to the Olympic fencing team. Also, Piece of Mind contains several references to brains and minds because it was the first album with the drummer Nicko McBrain.

Manowar's Eric Adams is a qualified bow hunter, and Sabaton IIRC recieved honourary Polish citizenship for their song 40-1, which they were invited to play on the site of the battle it is based on.

Ben Folds Five only ever had three members.

on one of their albums, "the unauthorized biography of reinhold messner", the name was chosen because "reinhold messner" was what they used on fake ID's as teenagers. They made up the name off the tops of their heads. during production of the album, they found out that reinhold messner was a real person! he was the first man to climb mount everest without supplemental oxygen.

Behold...The Artcopus has a drummer, a guitarist and someone who plays a Warr Guitar. Think a guitar with a really really really thick neck that has both the bass guitar strings and the guitar strings on it, that you play "touch style" (Just tapping the strings to the fretboard).

It looks amazingly difficult to play, probably because it is! Also, I absolutely love talking about these instruments...
