Me and a friend were talking about this the other day, I think it could be quite cool, we comapred it to gears though, so Halo with WAW's graphics but with gears darkness

Why not an even sillier Halo? Say, Halo done Saints Row 2 style. It'd turn out the Covenant simply tried to muscle in on human gang turf, and shit be ON.

Just imagine, instead of bog-standard campaign run-n-gun, you have missions, drive/steal whatever you want, spend a whole diversion running down Covenant... it'd be epic.

Personally I think you should scrap the series and just re-release Perfect Dark from the N64 with little more than graphics tweaks and a framerate bump. Maybe throw in some vehicles.

Since when I played Halo that's all I could think about . "Man this game would be so much better if it wasn't a watered down Perfect Dark."

Likewise PD:0 Doesn't count...just one of those incidents where the team that worked on the first project quit their place and some new group came in and wrecked the place.

I completely agree. Halo's color palette is fine. What it needs is a little more grit in the story department.

Okay... Let me clarify.
I'm not suggesting "remake the game with a different colour scheme" alone. I'm suggesting make it...brutal.
The elites are cool and everything, but imagine a big snarling beast with a gun and the same armour, not the well-spoken, logical race we have.
Instead of the second level from the first one (Halo: both level and game titles) being all green and foresty and daylight and shiny and all that shit, have it sorta post-apocalyptic and just the image that only aliens with a dark deed to perform would venture. Somewhere that SEEMS dangerous. Not somewhere that would be awesome for a picnic.
CoD: WaW was a mistake to say.
Okay...Aliens as brutal as the aliens from GoW.
Maps like Fallout 3, but SLIGHTLY darker and not ALL of them.
Gunplay like Black but with halo weapons.
just......Halo if it was made by the guys from Cannibal Corpse.
