I hate myself for it but im a massive rage-quitter

short temper and online gaming makes for a horrible combination

last rage quit was on skate 2, all i had to do was grind a ledge, nollie onto a bench then 360 flip over a rail and land it. To anyone who has played skate this might seem like a fairly basic challenge, i wouldn't blame you for thinking that, i went in with exactly the same mindset.

first attemp

-land grind
-land nollie
-skater does completely different trick

repeat this for about 20 attempts

i decided to sit still and practice 360 flips until i have them perfect

first revised attempt

-land grind
-land nollie
-skater does a FUCKING KICKFLIP

after repeating this another few times i gave up and promptly went out and punched a kitten

came back the nex day, pulled it first time

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU RAGEEEE

I don't really ragequit except for one specific situation. If I'm playing Metroid Prime: Hunters and someone picks that level with the glitch that lets you hide in the wall, I'm outta there. I don't care if my ranking goes down, I have better things to do than wait in the area where they can't shoot you until the match ends.

Infamous when I realized I had to do more sewer levels in the second and probably third islands ... SCREW THAT

Mirror's Edge

Half-Life 2: Almost every vehicle section made me want to bleed out of my face ... especially where you had to shoot mines at the walkers without them destroying anything or ... something ... I hate defense games ... I also died a bunch there too and it was instant Game Over if one of them gets to the gate

TF2 on the PS3: I was in a game with 2 other people. I quit that game and found only one game ... with the same two people ...

Any given RPG in which I die for whatever reason and find that I respawn about ... 10 minutes to 2 hours before the point I died at. I hate when that happens

RE4 mercenaries, Have enough points for 5 stars, nearly full health, healing spray in inv, and 5 seconds of time left. I turn around a corner, meet a zombie who grapples me, push him away, yet as my char does it 2 flail hits from a zombies that have spawned behind me kill me (or one spawned behind me, the other was walking with the grappling one I think, can't really remember). Anyway I die with less than 2 seconds left on the timer(and a healing spray in the inventory).

So rage quit.

I've turned rage-quitting into an art form. I hate doing it, but I don't stop myself. If I'm not having fun in a game it's best to give up and concede defeat (or cry defiance) than let the game continue to suck.

I've rage-quitted EVERY match of L4D/L4D2 versus I've ever played. If I haven't quit by the second chapter then you can bet I've put my head down, given up, and am just going through the motions. Something about L4D expert/versus mode just pisses me off - it's not difficult in any sense I'm used to, it's just amazingly cheap.

I tend to quit Team Fortress 2 out of either rage or shame pretty regularly too. Someone on the first page of this thread said that you can't get mad at TF2 and I'm calling BS - I think the game is MADE to make you angry. One time I was taking the Demoman for a spin on Badwater Basin. The gates were about to lower so I figure I should probably hasten my advance, so I try a sticky-bomb jump. It was the most amazing, most perfect sticky jump I've ever done. I soared majestically through the air, ready to rain explosive death onto every BLU below... except that the split-second the gates lower, some sniper headshots me, at the height of my jump, and gets an achievement for his trouble. I felt so disappointed, so disgusted, so cheated, and so ashamed that I quit the game immediately and I've never enjoyed TF2 since.

If anyone reads this, please, please, PLEASE make sure you at least try to understand what I'm saying.

The only time I "rage-quit" is in Soul Calibur IV and that's if it's glaringly obvious that I cannot put up a fight, like when I have input lag (read: I perform an [A] attack, but it takes as many as 2 seconds before my character does it on screen), or when I hit an all too inconvenient lag spike, usually when I have two rounds in the fight (read: when the connection suddenly goes from 4 or 5 bars to 1).

At that point, I go "fuck this", exit out, take my [ridiculous] penalty, and try again.

When I rage quit, I make a joke out of it.
Normally by yelling "Rage Quit!" in a weird and distorted voice.

Me? It was:

Vyhers in Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. The only option is basically run in to the range of his wind mage so I can get all my characters killed. It worked 1 hit every time.

Guilty Gear Judgement/X2 Midnight Carnival Reload. I got to a point in the game where I had to spam the power attack to keep these things that deal major damage away from me. They were originally mini-bosses in levels then they became the most common enemy. What. The. Fuck. As for the Midnight Carnival Reload I beat Arcade Mode. NOT! Instead I was stuck on I-no every time because of arbitrary points of time she shot unblockable things that come in the millions. It was even worse that no matter what character I used I lost to her only to hear the sexual comments she makes as her taunts...uuuuuuuuhhhhh. Torture.

The fact that L4D2 requires a majority vote to kick. With FOUR players. What a great decision; some
guy and his buddy can join MY game that I'M hosting and start chainsawing me and there is nothing I can do about it.

L4D2, too much friendly fire, pipe bomb wasting, and poor survivability.

In the CoD:WAW nazi zombie mode (I only play it for that) there was a 6 year old kid who was screaming at, to quote the OP, ear rape levels that his dad worked for microsoft and that he would have him screw over anyone's account if they left. After we got him to shut up (the other 2 guys were OK), we all lost at level 8 several times because he could not guard one window and started wailing again if he went down. After the 3rd time, I'm pretty sure there was a simoultaneous triple ragequit while the kid was in mid rant.

I have ragequit in Demon's Souls, but that's to be expected.

The only true ragequit I had was IN PUBLIC. I was playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on this arcade machine in a mall. I was on the final boss, I was about to win, and then I lost. I didn't have any quarters left, and my dad wouldn't lend me any. I kicked the machine and my dad had to drag me out of there, screaming and crying...

Wow, it's embarassing just to remember that. Keep in mind I was, like, 6 when this happened. I'm also not quite sure if that counts as a ragequit or not... oh, well. Who cares? :p

If it's because of a challenging part of the game, I'll Rage-Persist and usually shout something like "you might as well just let me have it, cause I'm just gonna keep on coming back". If the game glitches or freezes I'll tell the game to "F*** off" and quit.

Ninja Gaiden II

My first play through and I was doing it on warrior difficulty (which I guess is the equivolent of 'normal') and got up to the Dagra Dai boss fight. Anyone who's played it will know exactly what I'm talking about.

After 4 days, I beat it. Then after the whoops of delight, on comes the cut scene, and then the horrible realisation that there is another boss directly after it which is possibly even more cheap than Dagra Dai. At that point I stopped playing for a week, then came back and beat it first try.
