The Only really hard games I know about that I've actually played are Project Snowblind and Star Wars Republic Commando. Seriously. I could'nt beat Republic Commando without cheats and never beat Snowblind.

alright you want a challange here it is go buy ninja gaiden 1 for the original xbox play through on hard by the time you get to chapter 15 youll have a bracelet that will slowly replenish your health if you can beat the last chapter without using it then you my frind are hardcore. the last chapter is a big tower 5 stories filled with differant enemies (easy) get to the top and its 5 bosses one after the other (insane) you need the bracelet. if you manage it on hard very hard will be unlocked . good luck if you manage it let me know.

Asshole Mario

Its by far the sickest and hardest game EVAR
That would be called the Kaizo Mario hack(according to Cracked it is also known as "Dude, why are you such an asshole?"). It however isn't the hardest game. It is just tricky. The reason it seems difficult is because it just creates pinpoint accuracy jumps and cheap deaths.
The accurate jumps aren't justified difficulty? I will admit that the kaizo trap is just mean spirited, but he uses it sparingly.
It justifies difficult in a one-trick pony sort of way. If high precision jumps is all you have going for you then that is going to be mastered quickly.

I wanna be the guy is the hardest I can think of, just don't get frustrated, keep trying, expect to fail.

EDIT: Also, "you probably wont make it"

Watch most LP's and tell me that. Besides, there's not much in Mario besides platforming. The only way to increase difficulty past that is luck based game play.

The original X-Com games are both ridiculously fun, yet infuriating at the same time.

What do you mean my entire squad was just wiped out with ONE BLOODY GRENADE IN ONE BLOODY TURN!!!! That was my most veteran and well equipped team, yet I didn't even leave the landing ship before some blue-skinned asshole tosses a grenade in the instant the door opens. That isn't even remotely fair!

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

MEGAMAN as a series.

I wish it wasn't so. difficulty is not something I praise in games and everything else is so good about them...

I have and did. I have seen some clever things to make Mario hard that don't involve precision jumps, invisible coin blocks, or the dubbed Kaizo Trap.

The last two are indeed fake difficulty, but precision platforming is all of what Mario is.

Bit Trip Runner (Wii)Which I also like to call "Rage Runner." I suffer from extreme Rageahol poisoning every time I play...but I can't stop playing because it isn't impossible...

If you wanna go old school I'd say "Super Ghouls & Ghosts (SNES)" or "Castlevania (Nes)"

WRONG! I've played both, and Grand Prix Legends makes even the unforgiving F-Zero GX look like "Tomy's First Racing Game". Honestly, you will not win a race unless you're of a standard to race cars professionally.
wow you can cut the smugness with a knife. I know people who had an easy time with a Zelda game and I know people would disagree with DMC3 being up there. Some games are just easier for some people. That doesn't make it any less hard for the rest of us.

Yeah, you don't mess with that.
If you're calling that hard, you clearly aren't playing enough rRootage.
Actually, it does get a bit harder than rR a ways through....

Pfft. Touhou is way harder than this

heres a clip for touhou 11: Subterranean Animism
How about you go play rRootage, THEN make a decision.
Because Touhou looks like rRootage with less bullets, more enemies, and less difficulty.
True, there are fewer bullets, but the ones i see on the video you provided are very patterned.

Touhou games also have patterned bullet attacks, but very many of them are also either homing or random path generated, very often screwing the player over because of these random paths.

Yours still looks like a gigantic as well as frustrating pain in the ass, but comparing what I saw to what i know, Touhou looks like a more difficult game.

I myself have never played on this difficulty for very long but the green bullets have random paths, and the blues are either aimed at you or homing if I remember correctly.

The problem with this video though is that the player used alot of 'bombs'; a way to be temporarily invincible while at the same time clearing a large portion of the screen of bullets, and doing a decent portion of damage to the boss, without them, you could be stuck in each part of the bosses attacks up to 0:30-1:00 at a time, though your game seems to have similar 'saves' as well.

Mass Effect 2 on Insanity. Maybe compared to the other games being mentioned, it's not that bad, but to me, that was pure balls-to-the-wall evil bullshit. Hardest game I've ever played that I can remember.

Ghosts and Goblins for the NES or SNES I can't remember which.

There are tons of enemies swarming from everywhere, your weapons suck more than a bucket of ticks, and you can only take two hits before dieing, and before the end the game just says "Oh wait, let's throw more crap at you and...

...they say that the last room was just conjured by Satan, and you start all over again...ha....ha....ha."

The hardest games I've played are Resonance of Fate (which is only brutally hard for the first and last few chapters) and the old PS1 game "Galerians." Other than that, I've got nothing. I'd assume Demon's Souls but I haven't played it yet.
