I think I'll save myself the time it would take to list them and go with "All terms in gaming."

I long for the day where it is mandatory for all players to speak like posh Victorian Englishmen/women.

Have at you, Sir!

You debutantes are unskilled and favour sloppy tactics, which is why you lose regularly!

Tally Ho and Huzzah!

(spoken with a strong upper class accent, with a dapper moustache and a sherlock holmes style pipe clenched between your teeth)

noob - the term is thrown around so callously that it's just beyond ridiculous. Oh the game just came out today? And you haven't been playing since 12:01 am when I got my copy and said, "Well, I don't have a job, I'm going to go be the only person online playing this game for the next 6 hours." Good for you, I'm a noob, now kiss my ass.
I use n00b, but I also use newb, there is ofcourse a difference. (in my own personal mind dictionary) n00b is anyone who has played for any amount of time who is basically, a loser due to their own actions. These are cheaters, glitchers, and people who wont learn to stop making the obvious stupid mistakes and errors. If you are bad, you are bad, but someone who is bad at lets say, Gears, is just bad while someone who keeps trying to chainsaw (often failingly) would be to me a n00b.

mmorpg. sounds like a skin infection.

I've got to add another vote against 'rape' it just feels horribly innappropriate to use that to mean 'won a game by a large margin'.

This coming from someone called 'Sense of Tumour' too, but I guess everyone finds SOMETHING a bit too much.

Also, the whole range of pwned stuff, and you can throw all the tired old abusive stuff into the same deep hole and light it on fire.

We all come to gaming to enjoy ourselves and share in a pleasurable thing, and yet it seems some people can only find happiness in abusing others, the pointless fuckwits. (irony much?)

I have however noticed that I rarely see any 'owned' comments from a truly good player, its more likely to come from someone who's maybe 2 or 3 points ahead of me and managed to get two kills on me in a row than someone who's holding off a whole team solo, they're generally able to know their own ability without the urgent need to knock others down.

For some reason when I first played Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy online, everyone was a "Lamer". I don't know why, but that term crawled under my skin, reeked of suck and made me feel ill. I don't hear it anymore which is good, but I still get sick when I think about it.

Agreed, the only abbreviation that is needed is 'GG' - Good Game.

I hate all this word shortening text/1337 speak. My 60 year old dad uses it in his SMS messages, so I defy anyone to try and tell me it is still or ever was "cool".
That should settle it. Im telling my son when he wakes up!

If I'm talking about an mmorpg, I say M-M-O-R-P-G. I just think it sounds terrible when you say it as a word or say something like "mmorpger".

"noob", "newb", etc.

It justs sounds so ungraceful. It doesn't roll off the tongue like it should. "lol", too.

And I still don't know what "1337" means.
1337 is a way to spell LEET (short for elite. wow look how much time i saved by leaving the E off the first time) with numbers...I guess in case your letters stop working all of the sudden?

'Clip'

It's a MAGAZINE goddammit! Call it a 'mag' if 'magazine' is too long, but clip is INCORRECT.

Movies do this also...
Careful man, you could make army folk angry talking like that. The term Magazine refers to its own self-contained structure that holds rounds. Clips are, in fact little pieces of metal that hold the rounds together. I.E. the strip-clips found in CoD 5, whenever you use a Garand, thats a clip (Only holding bullets by the base), but the FG-42, that's a magazine. In fact, all modern weapons (M16, MP5, Brett .50 cal) use Magazines, with the possible exceptions of certain light/heavy machine guns that use belts (which are a type of clip)

(The M249 SAW, M60 LMG, and RPD all use a belt located inside a box, they're a bit of both)
I guess I should tone down the hostility a notch, but yeah, I'm aware of the difference. That's why I'm somewhat torqued that they keep getting it wrong pretty much all of the time.

Yeah, I'll echo what's been posted several times already.... n00b, pwn, fail, gay, or any excessive swearing. I'll admit I swear from time to time, but if every other word out of a player's mouth is f*** this and f*** that, I know I'm either dealing with a child or a village idiot.

I swear, the other night, I was trying out Uno Rush online, and there was a guy who was acting like he was the champion of a FPS or something... "YEAH!!! I f***ing ruled that round and pwned your sorry butts! I f***ing love this game!"

It's Uno Rush... Seriously. It's not that great a game or that hard to win...

Somehow, he didn't end up on preferred playlist! ;)

I hate just about every second word this guy says:

http://www.kontraband.com/videos/3713/Onyxia-Wipe/

I've played WoW for over a year and I still think half the players speak foreign languages.

Camper...
One, esp. a sniper who remains in place picking people off.

For one, a sniper in reality, DOESN'T MOVE unless forced to by giving away of position.

Second, Spawn 'campers' and item 'campers', okay I understand that. It is bullshit when someone pulls that stunt, but if you're in the middle of a field away from weapons, spawn points, bases, the go for it.

Plus, camper is just an annoying as hell word.
I agree. Nowadays you get it screamed at you six times if you stand still for more than three seconds. I especially hate it when people use it on territory capture or capture the flag games. They apparantly think that it's my duty to leave my base unguarded just to that they can suck less.

Also, anything sexual (i.e. fag, dousche, ****, etc.) that gets screamed at me every other kill in shrill, piercing voices by kids who quite clearly haven't hit puberty yet.
