I played Halo 3 with one fanboy and his GT was "E1337 Spartan". It was even funnier when he was one of the worst players in the game XD

/fail
I love it when people have really show boaty (?) GT's, and then they turn out to be teh suck.
Names like 'sn1p3rpr0' and 'killuextreme' (made them up) I love to beat, and often go out of my way to do so...
Gaming terms I hate...
Well I dislike when people refer to enemy players and 'bogies' or 'tangos'
Unless your a real military person, it just sounds stupid...

mmorpg. sounds like a skin infection.

who was it that made the decision to spell things with numbers rather than letters?
If I'm talking about an mmorpg, I say M-M-O-R-P-G. I just think it sounds terrible when you say it as a word or say something like "mmorpger".
but the word doesnt deserve the extra oxygen i'd use saying it properly

Failure is not an option. Then they end up making the level very hard you die and it says mission failed.
I thought failure wasn't an option. So why does it say mission failed. Every game that does this is contradicting itself

I'm guilty of most of the mentioned but it doesn't mean I don't hate them. They get lodged up there and won't go away.

My vocab is ruined.
Yeah, same here, unfortuantly. Doesn't help that my friends also have the same problem. Thankfully I have managed to avoid using 1337 and text language so far, so I'm not too far gone... [I hope, please save me!~]

If you play Gears or Halo on Xbox Live, the words '******' and 'douche' get VERY old.
True... But is it only used by players who are American... I also here "retard" a lot on Xbox live in Gears and Halo.

FTW and QFT. Seem to be over used way too much.

I highly doubt most posters do not even know the meaning of many of the acronyms they use.

Now, I do like FFS.

Hey! I take offense to that. I am an American and I hate people that talk like that a lot more than you, mainly because this country is full of them! And I deal with it every day!

I think I'll save myself the time it would take to list them and go with "All terms in gaming."

I long for the day where it is mandatory for all players to speak like posh Victorian Englishmen/women.
Exuberance, my good sir. Exuberance.

Not that this pertains specifically to gaming, but I hate when people think grammar doesn't exist on the internet. For example, 'you' becomes 'u,' 'for' becomes '4,' 'your' and 'you're' become 'ur.' I hate it a lot.

Also when people say 'rage' because they beat you as infected in Left 4 Dead. That's annoying as hell, although I admit I say it to other people.

Dragon kill point, mah boi.

Arbitrary currency system to distribute loot in raids. Long story short, you get DKP for showing up, for boss kills, etc, etc, and it's used to get the raid leader to give you items that drop.

long story short: I have to go to raids and get nothing for about a month before I can get an upgrade depending on how they value things and bid on things. 50 DKP minus would be another week-long setback or so.

I've seen people bid over 200 dkp on an item, and my guild only gave out about 12 dkp per raid on average, and did it 3-4 nights a week, so... :/

Fuck, why am I answering this?

Yes. Same idea applies to: if you like any game to any extent where you say you like it better than another... you are a fanboy.

"pwn" because people pronounce the P as a P. Last I checked, you say "own" but the P is an intentional typo.
This, a million times over! I have a friend who say pwn a lot, I die a little each time he says it, but even more-so because he pronounces the P in it.

Basically any shooter term that CoD or CS players like using: no-scoping, hax, haxor, noob, hardcore, casual (either one of the previous two are only used as insults by one or the other).

Also, I hate it when people go 'LEEROY JENKINS!', your WoW in-joke probably still wouldn't be funny to me even if I knew what the hell you were talking about. Which I don't. So why are you saying it to me like I do?
I'm not a WoW player, so I had to finally look it up because I keep hearing it all the time. Basically, some party was standing outside of some HUGE battle just simply planning how the proceed, and then the character named Leeroy Jenkins ran in screaming his name as a battle cry. Everyone else ran in trying to stop/save him, thus screwing over the whole party.

Youtube link for anyone who wants to see it. I laughed, and I'm not a Wow player.
