No Hazy, it's because they released the game in beta, gave it a few updates then abandoned the game. Now they are back, still leaving the PC version abandoned (despite whatever stopped them before being gone) and are working on porting it rather than finishing the game.

I didn't say all or even most, I said a lot.

The people that are mad that Terraria is no longer a PC exclusive are assholes of the finest caliber. I'm firmly of the belief that, as long as its feasible, everybody should be able to play great games.

However, the people that are mad about the extra content that we have no idea if its coming to pc or not are completely justified in their anger, especially because it seems based on comments here that more content updates were promised than we actually got (I don't know, because I bought Terraria long after all the updates stopped and wasn't really following it before then). Even if they are being angry brats about it, they're still justified in their angry bratyness.

Also, I really hope this content comes to pc, both as somebody that owns the pc version and thoroughly enjoys it, and as somebody that believes that all versions of a game should have access to the same content, if it's feasible (which it definitely is in this case).

Getting pedantic about exactly what these people are bitching about is pointless.

On topic though I feel if I'd not had an update on a game I loved for ages and hadn't had content updates for a while, and then was told there's a big announcement coming get ready, and it turned out to be no, you don't actually get anything we're just releasing on another platform I'd be mildly annoyed to. Just these people obviously don't portray mild irritation that very well.

It's the fact they announced the announcement I think made this worse, as only people who already have the game are the ones going to give a shit about an announcement happening and to then announce something they're obviously not going to care about is a bit silly.

Wow, those people sound really, really angry & entitled, I think it must be a side-effect of playing block based games. I think the game would be able to work well on a console so the developer should go for it & see what features they can add.

Terraria has today been announced for consoles, coming to Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network with extra content. PC users, expecting a major announcement and feeling gypped, are absolutely furious. Justified? Maybe. A bit too angry? Quite possibly so.

Terraria is a game all about mining, building, and seeking treasure. Though very similar to Minecraft, the game's role-playing elements and Metroid qualities won it quite a lot of its own acclaim. I understand wanting new content, I personally dont but to be fair I havnt played it in months and I kinda prefer actual fantasy RPGs like Dark souls over it. However they already bought the game and they arent entitled to anything except the game still working. Besides with three consoles to develop for (maybe four if the Ouya comes out soon) they'll have more incentive to develop bigger and better content.

Problem is Im not sure how theyre going to go about a Terraria port. Its so mouse focused that I think console players are going to have major problems unless the mechanics get a big overhaul

Never really got into the game myself, but I've also never really given it much of a chance. Maybe I should give it another go sometime!

Its kind of understable if you view it from their side... But its still overreacting a bit.

besides its not like Terraria is the oh so great game everyone makes it out to be. Another overrated indie game, pretty much like Minecraft... Except, unlike Minecraft, at least theres a lot of more stuff to do. So yeah.

This is one of the few times Matthew opinion and mine line up, (Oh god) and he is right about what he's said.

Development ended out of nowhere, several other companies freely offered to take up development and give Andrew what ever he wanted, but he turned them down for reasons unknown.

Now this happens.
Honestly, I feel people are a little in the right to be a little critical.(Not the outright screaming and crying that makes up most of the furor though)

This doesn't really have an affect on me personally, but Andrew Spinks really has some unorthodox methods and practices for running a business.

Why are people so fundamentally dumb? Is anybody really so stupid that they think they are required to re-buy a game on a different platform, simply because it exists?

I just don't get it at all...

This whole controversy is absolutely mind-numbingly stupid.

edit: Also, why are people acting like Terraria wasn't a complete game? I bought it on the day of it's release and I'd definitely have called it a complete game then. An extra massive free update is just beautiful icing on an already fantastic cake.
