The pony memes. Really old really fast. I cant stand MLP and bronies pushing their love for ponies on so many sites.

Spoiler: This is probably the best example of why I hate MLP (Warning graphic pictures NSFW)

They really crossed the line.

Yes, because three, THREE people are fucking idiots that means all bronies love these pictures. I thought as a gamer you would know that generalizations are bad, but I guess you haven't learnt that yet.

The three people are: The guy who made the Rainbow Dash holocaust picture, the guy who commented it and the guy who made that other picture. Chances are that if you showed that to any other brony they would be disgusted to, I know I am.

You might have some small point if I said that was the only reason I didn't like MLP memes, but it wasn't. Spamming various sites I visit is also why I dislike the memes, and trying to convince me to like MLP is another reson why I dislike the memes.

As for spongebob and bear, I don't like the pics, but at least the fans don't continue to spam multiple sites I go to and insist that I will like their favorite show.

You know, the best why to avoid ponies/ bronies isn't usually to post about them in a "Bad Memes" thread. Many fans on this site try their hardest NOT to mention the show on the forums as it ends in a total cluster-fuck. I think the hatred of the show is far more prevalent and annoying than its fanbase, especially in threads like this.

While it is better now, a little while back people were spamming threads and it was ridiculous. As for this thread, the OP asked a question so I answered it. No reason for people to get so defensive. I just don't like MLP, other people can like whatever they want.

Slight image fail aside I'm not really what you would call a "Hardcore pony defender" but it just gets on my nerves that the majority of how the show/ community is brought up tends to be "Bleh! Pones! i hate ponies! Lets talk about how much i hate people talking about Ponies. Whats that? You like Ponies? Well i don't care, stop talking about Ponies!"

I know its relevant to this thread (being a meme and all) but most of the time the people complaining about "The pony problem" are the ones who keep bringing it up. Every time it gets mentioned both sides just go insane. So if you don't want to talk about ponies... don't talk about ponies. And certainly don't go on a rant about 'crossing the line' as obvious reply bait.

I'm glad you like my image as much as I liked yours. That said, while I normally could understand where your coming from, (as you pointed out) what I originally typed is relevant to this thread and as such I don't think it falls under what you were referring to.

There is no bait, I don't think that its appropriate to put ponies in pictures that have to do with genocide and persecution.

That would actually be the vast majority. Probably around 80% of those used today in one way or another came from 4chan.

Picking out a poor judgement made by one member of a community and applying it the whole of a community is a classic attack that is actually quite often made on gamers. Yes its inappropriate. No it isn't indicative of an entire community. Surely you can see why labeling MLP fans "Genocide trivializers" would annoy some people?

What line was there to be crossed? This is the internet, far worse things come from every fandom out there. I can guarantee you that somewhere out there is rule 34 of Spongebob. Just because EternalNothingess makes threads overanalyzing the show, it doesn't mean we ALL are that way to the show. Like I said, generalizations are bad mkay. But may I ask you this, do you hate Mass Effect fans because of the MASSIVE amount of threads that came out about the ending to ME3? When Half Life 3 comes out will you hate Half Life fans because of the MASSIVE amount of threads that will inevitably be made on Half Life 3? Do you hate cosplay because that's mentioned quite a lot on this site? I'm guessing no, because they are not ponies. Personally, I think that most of the hate coming from people like you is because of the fact that it's "My Little Pony" instead of a show exclusively for boys that men like.

Nope, this is a video game website and I never came across Mass Effect or Half Life fans spamming other threads that had nothing to do with those games. They also didn't try to force me to like their game after I said no.

Personally, I think that most of the hate coming from people like you is because of the fact that it's "My Little Pony" instead of a show exclusively for boys that men like.

If that's what you think, then you haven't read anything I typed. I said me reason was primarily because they spam threads, and try to proselytize others into liking the show. The Nazi theme pictures were just the straw that broke the camels back.

You seem to say we shove ponies down your throat, and derail threads with ponies. But you haven't shown ANY evidence, except for saying that they have. And that EN statement was about generalizations, which you are doing. Not every brony shoves ponies down other people's throats, and not every hater shoves their hate down people's throats. Also, let me give you a story about a hater:

Basically, I told a few of my close friends that I was a brony. They were perfectly fine with it. Except for one, and that was the one who I only really liked out of sympathy. What did he do? Every time we spoke from then on he mentioned how I liked ponies in a negative light, I never mentioned ponies at all. Yet because he hated the show and thought that bronies shove ponies down his throat he started to shove how he hated the show down my throat. He soon learnt that doing that does not a good friend make, so I kind of just ignored him. It's not the fact that he hated the show that I ditched him as a friend, it's the fact that EVERY time we spoke he mentioned me being a brony. Now I know why barely anybody liked him, because he makes everything worse when there's no need to. I've seen him with my other friends saying about how they are "newfags" because they don't go on 4chan all the time like him. Now pretty much all of the people in my friend group hates him. That's an example of why I really don't like people like you and him. Can you give an example of why you don't like ponies?

... that isn't just saying "They shove it down my throats and force me to like the show", because I've never seen that happen. Perhaps you could enlighten me, or would you rather just keep making silly claims?

I feel that at a time when something becomes a Meme, the joke is already well told. It becomes a Meme when it's so widespread it's almost universal in internet culture. From this point on it's already overstaying it's welcome, and often it does so for weeks and months on end!

Very very few of these Memes are funny... Some make you smile or giggle the first time. The funniest crack a smile the second and the third time. After that it becomes a drag, and messes up oh so many a conversation...
