As things calmed down a bit Louie started to have his attention wander. Looking over to the display showing what numbers are up, now into the 600's, a slight thought started tickling the back of his head.
600, eh? Well we shouldn't be too far off from now- at that moment he realized why that number sounded familiar to him. It was roughly double what his was.
"Oh... " he started to say before his mind caught up to the fact that he may have just missed his chance to sign up for the federation. He grabbed Fran by the collar "come on Fran, we're late and our lives'll probably depend on it!" he said fast as he could as he made a blind dash to the building.

After dragging Hayden around to register she finally answered his question. "Hayden, my dear sweet brand new friend, of course you don't have a choice. You write this story and I will let you in on an investigation that will change the world as we know it. There are things in this world Hayden, bad things and its my job to destroy them. You my friend are gonna help me, and as an added bonus I won't beat you if you stare at me or make perverted comments...75% of the time" she said

Dr. Ivan again looked at his number. "687... almost there, then I can get this over with..."

Kenneth looked back at the number monitor, 687...Damn, that flew by faster than I thought!" He thought, before looking back at the three people he was with, "Sorry, but I'm afraid I can't. Those numbers flew by faster than a soaring jet, and I gotta get ready for..." He sighed, "Paperwork...So, see ya...I guess. Sorry about calling you idiots before, my bad." He turned and started to run back to the registry building(That's what it is...right?)

Heh, and here I thought I'd have to wait here forever and ever, and those numbers are flying by. He pulled his number out of his pants pocket and looked at it, "731...Wonder where that puts me in the ladders." He said to himself, "Oh well, can't wait to crush some people. That'll come after...ugh...paperwork." Kenneth's always hated paperwork. It seemed to be more of a nuisance than helpful to him. "Oh well. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do."

Dr. Ivan noticed that his number had been shown on the monitor and stood up. "Finally." He said, as he leisurely strolled to do his paperwork. Arriving at the front door, he walked in and, after one drawn out paperwork process that this RPer doesn't know, he emerged, with what resembled a smile on his face. "That's out of the way, time to get back and polish up my Machine." He looked around at all the excited rookies. A lot of these idiots won't know what just hit them, especially those driving MY mechs... The smile on his face widened, and he walked off, whistling The Awakening Wolf's Instinct, then wondering where he had heard the song he was whistling from.

Lyn stared intently at the monitor, waiting for her number to show. Ugh.... I still have 300 to go. Well, at least the crowd has thinned out considerably. Course, that just means I'll stand out more in this crowd. Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone ringing. She pulled it out of her pocket and checked the caller id. It was her sponsor, the head of Megalocorp. "This is Lyn." She answered after sighing slightly.

"Uh huh. Yes. No, I'm still waiting to register. Hm? Your son? I told you, I have nothing left to teach him. He's a fine pilot and his first season proves it. Right.... Well, if you put it that way.... Fine, I'll look out for him if I run into him. Goodbye." Lyn hung up and turned here gaze back to the monitor with a frown.

Great. As if having to babysit my current spoiled brats wasn't enough, now I have to babysit the one that graduated too? Well, at least it's Alexius. He can take care of himself. I should know, I taught him. Lyn thought to herself with a small chuckle as she continued to wait patiently for her number to appear.

after kevin got registered, he walked around a bit and had a lot of garlic bread to eat, he then started looking around to see whether he could find dr.faust After walking around randomly for a few minuets he saw the man within the large crowd he saw dr.ivan I don't think she wants to talk to me and I don't wanna talk with some who goes on about how much better they are then the "rest of us" especially one who calls a 24 year old a kid when they are no older then 30. He then let out a sigh of boredom, with a breath so garlicy it could kill a vampire.

As she and Hayden hammered out the details of their partnership Jasmine was reminded of something.
FLASHBACK
23 year old Jasmine Kinoshita, A former street urchin and Rookie officer, arrived back at DeltaSquad HQ after a long day of patrolling the streets. As she parked the Patrol cruiser in the garage and ran a hand through her short black hair, honestly why she cut it she didn't know, it looked better longer. She stepped out of the car and made her way from the garage to the officer pen. Pulling her desk chair he sat down. Jasmine loved being an officer...though Paper work that needed to die. As she began filling out a report for a drug dealer she busted that day. It made her smile thinking that she made the streets safe. That same Drug dealer walked free because of a piece of mislabeled evidence. It was at that moment Jasmine decided that she would do anything to keep the people safe, even if it meant getting dirty

Hayden just stood there, still mulling over the incredibly incredulous decision. He was afraid to move an inch, but like always he could lie his way out of any situation so it was just a matter of his morals whether or not he would take the deal, Having very little consideration for what the news did to others he was leaning towards yes.

Frann had then actually grabbed onto Louie's arm and then kicked it into some kind of Psychotic overdrive towards the registration desk as everything for the two of them blurred like an 80's music video, and Frann could've swore he heard 'Take on me' play for an instant.

The FABULOUS DR. HORATIO FAUST has been one of the first to register considering he'd been camping out front for a long while before registrations opened. He was just waiting now, and taking a look at everyone else who was entering, he grabbed himself a strawberry smoothie.

As Frann and Louie were ushered on by the classical music of the 80's, they managed to almost bowl over a day-dreaming policewoman though a last second swerve they only managed to clip her. Coming to a skidding stop right in front of the desk Louie slammed his hand onto the desk for support.
"Where the hell was I just now?!" he said as everything regained color. Though suddenly there he suddenly remembered the reason for that dash.
"Hey, you there!" He said to the person behind the counter "we were supposed to be here about 300 people earlier but we kinda got lost along the way but now we really need the application papers so we can get in the battle and run the appropriate testing for our jobs!" He said very fast, pounding on the desk for emphasis at the end.

The person just handed them a hefty booklet of documents for them to sign without a word. "Uh... thanks. This should be it, right?" He said as he took both of them. One he tossed at Frans chest and the other he started going through.
Approved mothers maiden name? Okay... amount of blood able to lose before passing out? Ah, that's an easy one! ... do you pass out at high altitudes. How's high is high for these people? He thought as he started trying to fill out the necessary places.

"Uhh... Fran, what'd you put for number 37?"

Alister simply shrugged when he noticed that the conversation between the two parties seemed to have died down. Shrugging casually, he walked away and went about his registration. It was a strange thing, the way that people treated Alister simply because he wasn't good at showing emotions. Still, he wasn't ever really one to judge, or care, for that matter. After all, he had bigger things he needed to worry about, larger things in his life that he needed to overcome before he could fret about the little things.

((OOC: If you guys are done with your conversations, I'll move us on to the preliminaries tomorrow, so get in a fighting mindset))

Yeah, Character interaction and building is good and all, but if we don't move on, this'll die.

And so the sign ups came to a close. Many people were rejected of their chance to join the most famous and massive of all Mech federations, but many were also able to get in and start their path anew. For so many MBF pilots this was little more then busy work, a day long hassle that wouldn't effect anything, but for so many others, this would be their one shot, their first real chance to make a name for themselves and stand among the elite who called this a mere formality.

And so, after a week of numbers crunching and information processing, the preliminaries began.

The preliminaries was a 3 month long process of pitting pilots against one another to gauge their abilities and more properly pit them against opponents that would put up a good fight. The process was a simple one, from the end of the pilots, anyway. First, the people hidden behind closed doors would pick opponents off a formula, call in the fighters, and give them 2 days warning to get their bearings together before having them come down to the MBF main fighting arena, where the pilots would take part in battles to assess their strength. Most pilots could expect to be called in to fight once every couple of weeks, some less, some more. Typically, the preliminaries were what separated the aces from the average pilots, the preliminaries were as far as many, many mediocre fighters would face the end of their journey.

Basically, you're able to fight any way you want. Rather you want to construct your own stories about your character fighting some NPCs that you control, or you want to fight another player, either option is open for you. Pretty simple stuff here, people.

Just have at it. I'm not really going to arrange fights between you guys until later in the game. For now, that decision is yours.
