Well, I normally have schedule which me and my brother must stick, we hardly ever do though, so I don't think I'm of any help here.

Diplomacy is the obvious solution. Offer to play when one of you die or try to strike a deal with him. If that doesn't work then come up behind him and wrap your arm around his neck and place his chin right in the bend of his elbow and squeeze. He should be out in about 7 seconds and you'll have a few hours to play. I don't care if this seems extreme, Bad Company 2 is fucking awesome!

Note: when preforming the sleeper hold(above described move) don't hold for over 12 seconds or he risks permanent brain damage. This technique is perfectly safe and shouldn't result in any damage if performed correctly.

You should have kept your $30 and bought your own game (an older, used one, but still good)

Kill your brother.
This is the only rational solution.

Then jack all of his "phat lootz."

In all seriousness, he deserves to play, but since he's done this repeatedly, your only option is to grovel at his feet like a little baby work out a system filled with charts and graphs.

That'll learn 'em!

Only ever went halfs on a game with my bro if we could split screen, and that pretty much died about 6 months before he went to uni with the realisation only one of us could keep the consoles.

He paid for more than half. He gets first dibs.

Its times like this I return to Oblivion... (or Mass Effect, or Fallout or A.N.Other RPG unfinished or replayable)

My 'younger' brother does this to me from time to time. Unless the clan is on and begging to play, I'm not usually that bothered

Next time, set up a time system beforehand. I used to do this with my little brother when negotiating for time on the internet. If he pays for most of the game, then he gets first play and gets, say, 4 hours. Then you get 2. Then he gets another 4. Then you get 2, then he gets two and you two and so on and so forth.

You need to learn how to properly threaten people. You don't even have to follow through, just sound like a convincing sociopath and your brother will let you on.

He did pay for more then half of it.
That's about the sum of it right there.

All these people saying to talk it over. What's wrong with Rock, paper, scissors?
People still play that? I play Rock, Paper, EYEGOUGE. I always win.
I play it a similar way

Rock(Punch in the stomach), Paper(Slap in the face), Scissors(Eye-gouge). All three in succession are instant win at anything.

'*****, I'm playing now. I deserve to play because I payed for that shit too'

Works for me.

Never. Seriously, just deal with it and play something else. There's more games.

So Battlefield: Bad company two was released today. I was pretty stoked to get to play it. I even payed 30$ out of 69$.( Which is a lot since It was my own choice and I have no income)
Finally, after what seems like years: my brother comes through the door, holding the game and... he goes into his room and has played since 9:00 AM.
And before everyone suggests I kick ass or something along those lines, he has a good 150 pounds (muscle) on me.

So I ask you escapists, has this sort of thing ever happened to you? Where you are denied what you earned (A bit) and were forced to complain about it on the internet?

NOTE: This was not the first time my brother did this. Every new game I/He/we get, he plays for days without letting me go within five feet of the disk.

EDIT: Asking has never worked, and it didn't work this time.
Get a job, get your own computer and get over it.
