Captain Rhodes in Day of the Dead.
He does eventually die, but he manages to tell the zombies to choke on his intestines as they pull them out.
Oh yes, this scene stood out to me. I mean, look, there are his fucking intestines, and he's still shouting at them!

In the series Lost, when...
the Russian guy walks through an active sonic fence, only to reappear unharmed later on, when Naomi is bleeding out from a gunshot wound. Fortunately that commie bastard gets shot anyway....

Which reminds me, how is it that...
all the main characters, when they get into a major gunfight, either don't get shot or get shot once and recover? And how are the survivors able to kill all their attackers with one or two shots that always hit, and meanwhile the attackers empty whole clips without ever hitting someone? There's gotta be a tvtropes article to explain this....
Jacob maybe? But true, i noticed this in the series. The only way to kill them is via explosions, monsters or drowning.

Anakin from Star Wars Ep3. How the hell did he survive getting both legs and an arm cut off, then being set on fire by lava!?!!?
Well, he barely survived really.

As Darth Vader he's mostly machine and has to be kept alive with that mask and all...

Im going with NPC pokemon well think about it how many times have you had your pokemon faint throughout the game and not die. Then how many wild pokemon have just fainted. So the ghost marowak is just classed as a ghost pokemon.

Might want to put a big spoiler warning up there

OT: Why, Boromir of course, in one of the best death scenes of cinema history.
In all fairness... He could have just been experiencing an adrenaline rush. He does die from the arrow hits but he's so hyped up trying his best to save the Hobbits and go down fighting... That it take longer for it to hit him. This does happen quite a lot in real life. Mainly when a loved one is in trouble.

Okay back on topic. Face/Off. When the main character escapes. He jumps off of the top of the prison into the sea... From the height he jumped at, the water would probably have had the same impact as hitting concrete. Then there's being able to swim to sure after hitting said water. I imagine the current around such a place would make that impossible.

Then again... This is a John Woo movie... Why am I applying logic here?.

Man if zombies can use guns, that will severely complicate things. In retrospect, he probably should have loaded the gun before he left the room.

OT: Not sure if this counts, but in The Fellowship of the Ring, when they are in Moria, I had forgotten that Frodo was wearing his mithril vest and was very surprised when he wasn't killed when the cave troll tried to skewer him. Then he revealed the vest and I went "Ahhh! Mithril! Right!"

What's really sad about that is that I had read the book too, so I should have known better.
In S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl the zombies have guns, and they're smart too.

But my point is, the Ghost Pokemon must come from somewhere. And if Pokemon don't die, then how are they Created?

Alucard in Hellsing Ultimate all the way through the series. He takes a gunning down by zombie policemen, decapitated with a blessed blade, shot in the head with a M1 Garand and then shot repeatedly with said M1, gun down by a ten man strong SWAT team, damn near cut in half with magic playing cards that apparently can cut through uranium, his SR-71 is shot down and crashes into a boat in a huge fireball, is gun downed by an SS unit that happens to have a panzerfaust handy and then is repeatedly hit by a magic bullet fired from a musket (which has earlier been seen destroying helicopters, missles and Tornado fighters). When he gets into a fight you know its gonna end one way and one way only but its still awesome to see how far it'll go, its like he's a diamond and everyone else is a material trying to get on the Mohr hardness scale

Oh yeah and in the original series he is attacked with magic lasers, shot with his own blessed bullets and fights the Egyptian God of Destruction.

Its safe to say that this guy just doesn't die

At the end of the TMNT movie (the older live action one), Shredder gets chucked over a nine (or so) story building and lands spine first into the compactor of a garbage truck. Then Casey turns it on... and it crushes him.

Yet here he is the second movie...completely unscathed... say for his helmet now slightly bent.

Near the end he becomes "Super Shredder(TM)", but despite that, he ends up actually dying. How you ask?

Decapitation?

A nuclear explosion?

Fired into the sun?

No. A dock collapses on him.

...huh?

As regular Shredder, he could some how survive falling from the top of a building and being crushed to death. But now he's "Super Shredder(TM) and some how a rickety old dock delivers a more killing blow than a fucking trash compactor.

Uh. I think I read somewhere that being shot is actually pretty easy to ignore.
A lot of police officers bleed out after firefights because they got shot and kept going, thinking they were fine.

I mean, it probably hurts like a *****, but it doesn't have that oomph that arrows have. Get hit by an arrow, and that shit will knock you down.
I cannot really remember how it works but TvTropes assures me that is how things go.

You are probably going off of actual knowledge and research, though, so just ignore me.

On topic, it always bugs me when movies and stuff completely ignore ontological inertia. The Matrix Reloaded was a pretty egregarious example.
Trinity's organs would still be falling, okay. They have become seperate entities to her body. They are divorced. They are in a legal battle for their possesions because they never signed a prenupt.
This is why you do not grab people while flying fast enough to create a sonic boom that shatters windows, Neo.
There is actually some truth to this. All NATO forces use 5.56 ammunition now instead of the larger 7.62 caliber. It's lighter (can carry more) and more accurate. However, there are reports from soldiers that fought in Iraq that they would put most of a clip into a combatant and they would still keep coming at them. They said the 5.56 ammo just doesn't have enough of a kick to keep an enemy down when they're pumped full of adrenalin. Even more so if they have armor.
