That one game you could never finish...

I think I speak for all gamers when I say that I have had some games that I could never for the life of me finish. Because of difficulty or the game just being so bad I couldn't continue playing...

The one game I could never finish. Battle toads... GGGRRRRAAAAGH!!! ...sorry... however all my friends finished it. I think I was like 13 when I played it.

And the one game I just couldn't bare to sit through was "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2" from what I can tell from reviews and my friends everyone seems to think it's an average game. Some even think it's good.

I hated it, I'm not sure why exactly... but I just couldn't play it. I wasn't even bad at it. I was pretty good, but I hated it with a passion... plus the version of the game that I had was the "limited edition", so that was better than the original game... jesus, how bad was the original?

Anyway, you guys have any of those games? That one game you just couldn't finish, or that game you just couldn't bare to finish?

Brink.

Couldn't get past day 2 on the security side because my god damn AI buddies couldn't give me ANY cover while I was trying to deliver the security card. Or whatever the hell I was doing.

I must say, that game set a record though, I'd never sold a game 3 days after getting it up until I got Brink.

Far Cry 2..
I just thought everything about it was really awkward, and i hated the fact you had to drive 5 miles in a shitty tin can car to get to a save point.
And that you could never try to be stealthy because as soon as you killed one guy every enemy within a 5mile radius would know where you are, and would snipe your ass off with a shotgun.

World of Warcraft: The massive pit that swallows my money and time which returns nothing but endless raids and pvp before reaching the best gear to beat the hardest raids.

Borderlands: I loved it at first but got bored as it was just a rip off of world of warcraft.

Grand Theft Auto 4: I spend too much time running people over with busses while throwing nades out the window.

Supreme Commander 1 + 2: Campaings werent that interesting.

And heres a list of other games that i have not finished.......

And around 20 others.
The main reason why I dont finish these games is that i loose interest in the single player areas quickly. I prefer multiplayer over single player now days.

-Far Cry 2, Crisis, Just Cause 2, Ghost Recon (forgot which one), Bayonetta, and many others.

I have yet to drop a game because of difficulty. When challenged, I continue. I may not want to replay it though.

Neither difficulty or frustration, but sheer terror? Amnesia.

The boredom that this game exudes reached critical mass near the end, and I just couldn't for the life of my understand why I was still playing it. So I quit and never looked back.

Painkiller Overdose - it just doesn't have the charm of the original, so my interest declined rapidly.
Also The Witcher. Logically I should have loved it, but by the time I got past the starting area I just wasn't captivated at all. Then I got a new laptop, and I haven't reinstalled it. Oh well.

Oh! Also Final Fantasy X... When I got to the battle with Sin at the end of the game I just could not believe that was it. I invested all my time playing this game having to deal with pre-pubescent Tidus and a guy who wears sandals to a fight while throwing a soccer ball at his enemies, and was left with one of the most "wrap-it-the-hell-up" endings and final bosses I've ever had the displeasure to experience.

Damn you Final Fantasy X, Damn you.

Borderlands a ripoff of wow? Wow didn't invent loot based mechanics and every game that has loot isn't a mmo ripoff. Borderlands was actualy a refreshing take on fps genre. But everyone has a right to his/her opinion and I respect that so I won't go push this any further.

Modern Warfare 2. Started to feel like a grind, and I swear they get you to do the same things over and over. Too much yelling "Go there! Do this! Not that! Hurry up! Get down! Fall back! Do it again! Stop yelling!"... Totally agree with Yahtzee's review.

Also, the last level in the 2nd-to last episode in the 8th column (the userlevels column) of Ngame. Dang, that was hard. And it might have something to do with the fact that I always ran out of time (I played it at school).
