The final Canary Mary challenge on Banjo Tooie...

That is the only blemish on that game for me... I never managed to beat her...

At the moment, it's Bayonetta on Non-stop Infinite Climax mode. I... let's just say I'm having some trouble.

One of Dragon Age: Origins' Revenants as a dual wielding warrior in light armour on nightmare difficulty.

It was hard.

yea, I had that in star wars:the empire strikes back on the NES.
No matter how many times I try it, Darth Vader is always Luke's father.

The level 'Wetwork' from the MW2 Special Ops mission bordered on becoming this, but 'Mile High Club' for the first MW had me fully believing it just was not possible... until I beat it... In fact, WaW on Vet also seemed impossible...

Strange, they're all Call of Duty's...
I took "Mile High Club" on the first try on vet. But then again, I've played through CoD4 a million times and know the Campaign Mode really well.

A lot of grenade deaths in CoD4 seems impossible to do, but they always happen :(
Oh, and the shootout in the rocket silo near the end of CoD4, on veteran, I die at least one time when going through that part.

I've had many occasions in which I've found it nigh impossible to win, although due to my persistence I've always overcome.

Most recently would have been the final battle in Uncharted 2 on the hardest difficulty. Took me close to an hour. The first time I've ever felt like snapping the controller.

I got an oldie, too.

When I was younger I couldn't finish the final bossfight on Jet Force Gemini for the N64.

I came back to that fight after several years of avoiding the entire game, and finished it on one go.

So my conclusion; RecentXIV can kick YoungXIV's bum like Link vs Young Link in SSBM.

I remember that one! Cloud Cuckoo-land. I think I bought a controller with a Turbo button exactly for that challenge.

For me, lately I re-acquired one of the Guilty Gear XX games, and I realized why I think I traded it in, in the first place: Beating I-No in arcade mode. There are no words to describe how infuriating this fight is, and I can't seem to beat her on any difficulty. I know how to avoid her "Megalomania" special attack, but she still hands my ass to me on a silver platter.
I loved that game and have it for the original Xbox. It is one of the few fighting games I enjoy and am good at however, I get stuck in that same fight! I hate that fight so much >.<

OT: Playing Final Fantasy XIII I've found a bunch of snags. The first major snag was the battle to get Sazh's Eidolon. At first my Crysarium grid wasn't fully filled so, I trained up enough to fill it. After several more deaths I started upgrading the weapons. I think I only won that fight out of luck despite being as powerful as the game allowed me to be at that time [not counting weapon upgrading but, each weapon granted a +40 or so to attack and +25 or so to magic I think...and I was still being slaughtered]

My next major snag, was the end battle for Chapter 9. Once again, as strong as I was allowed to be with everyone's weapons leveled 10-12. At worse, I would be slaughtered without doing any damage to the boss's armor.

Not all bosses are are tanks though: some of them are much easier to defeat than the area monsters you have to get through to get to them [like the wyverns and, armored lizard things who are a bigger pain in the ass to kill than the helicopter boss thing much later on]

I stopped playing FFXIII recently when I got stuck fighting Cid, To add insult to injury, every guide and video I have seen about it describe him as being a fun and easy fight...this guy has beaten me over a half dozen times already...

At the moment, the mission in FF13 with the 2 Raktavija to fight, thats a pain. Also GoW3 on hard, Hercules is having fun playing a little tune on my head. Bayonetta also fits the aforementioned description

Also, any other older FF player might agree with me when I say, TONBERRIES!! I hate those little green pricks

I have tips! (For SF4's Seth that is)

Character: Ryu

Start of the match: Jump at him (he almost always does the dhalsim arms) and do your favorite air to ground combo (I like heavy kick to crouch medium kick to spin kick)

Back off and spam hadoken, he will match with sonic boom (watch for EX version and be ready to jump) but he WILL eventually wall jump at you. Jump backwards while doing heavy kick, it should connect. Rinse and repeat.

If you get knocked down he will start teleporting everywhere. Stay calm and spam grab as you get up. If you are desperate you can wake up ultra, it usually doesn't work but it is worth a shot in some situations. Grab also applies when he sucks you in, it almost always connects even if you don't block the attack.

NEVER jump at him (unless its a cross up) as he will simply shoryuken.

Don't worry about mix ups, computers don't learn like humans =)

The 2nd encounter of Plesioth in Monster Hunter 2.

I have seriously tried killing him 40+ times. Tried switching up my entire equipment, reading guides on the net (like 6 gamefaq guides), watch youtube clips on people killing him and even taking a break to absorb all the info I had.

In the end, I returned and tried for another two weeks then gave up.

...
I haven't touched the game for several months now.

Ultimate Spider-Man, chasing Venom level.
It was hard, It was confusing, It was maddening.
I hate timerun/timeattack missions. In that level, you need to move quickly from one skyscraper to the next. You need to follow Venom with a close distance. You can not climb up to the buildings and jump from roof to roof, because you need to stay near Venom. You can not stay very close to Venom because it is hard to see where he will jump next. Even better, your jumping is not high like Venom, so you need to react very fast. It was like a torture. After 50th, try I got angry and deleted the game.

In MW2, in the level which you need to protect the data downloader thing inside the house. There is also hard. Enemies come from 3 different place and you need to kill enemies quickly. Ok that's an interesting struggle. But after that, the real maddening part starts and you need to run to the chopper through the tens of enemies. You can not run forward, there are enemies. You can not cover and shoot, there are enemies in your back. You can not turn back and shoot, there are enemies in your right. I tried 20-something times that level just to run to my death. Lol, it was a boring part. The end levels of the game was easier than that.

Ah yes, also Seth. The stupidest "Boss" character that I've ever seen. You can not beat him with brute force, you can not beat him with tactical moves, you can not beat him with speed, you can only beat him with cheesy exploits. Only that. Onslaught of Marvel vs Capcom on hardest level was easier than Seth of SF4 on easiest level. Stupid thing.
