How could you not want this game? It's just so amazing.

Scarily realistic even.

Hehe, good one.

OT: Looks amazing. Would buy a PS3 to play it if I could, though to be honest, if I had that much money, I'd save it for a Wii-U. Watch Dogs looks more interesting though...

Yet another trailer that looks awesome but is probably scripted like crazy. I really don't believe that whole thing where he runs out of ammo, the bad guy says "I know that noise" and walks up, and then the girl throws something at him and the main character charges him. I highly doubt that arose as part of the natural AI routines of the enemy and the girl in that situation, or that the engine dynamically decided that the main character should slam the dude's face into the desk because of their exact position in the room.

It seemed interesting how they incorporated very natural sounding dialogue cues into the brief lulls between bits of action, but there must have been some pre-determined scripting there as well.

That little bit of enemy talk near the beginning "Look what I f... what the fuck?" that was a fully recorded line meant to be interrupted in the middle like that, even though theoretically the main character could be hiding out of sight at that moment.

And the way the fight with the last two bad guys went down did not seem to arise naturally out of gameplay at all. The attack movements and reactions were all far too specific when theoretically he could have approached that combat from any angle, or taken a more head-on approach without taking cover.

Still no release date, thats disappointing. I keep saying that this is bound to be awesome due to the fact that its from Naughty Dog...

...but I have to admit from what that trailer shows it does seem to be very Unchartedy, especially when he threw that petrol bomb. The combat looks to be fun and visceral and I like the idea of having to conserve ammo and having Ellie cause a distraction when you are in trouble.

1. If I understand correctly, it's a PS3 exclusive, so it's no use to me

2. Looks cool, but I'm unclear on the actual gameplay. Looks like a 3rd person shooter with tons of QTEs. I'd like to see how much of it is scripted and how much is proceedurally generated. If it's mostly done "on the fly", it looks cool.

But again, due to the exclusive, I'll keep my eyes on Watchdogs and Star Wars 1313...

Naughty Dog...

You're rather obsessed with jungles, aren't you?

Anyway, from the looks of it I'm hoping the combat and dialouge is dynamically AI driven like it's illistrated here otherwise I would considering calling a pass on this. I personally take gameplay like that anyday.

Looks pretty darn sweet.

It's nice to see Naughty Dog flexing their muscles with something a bit meatier than Uncharted.

I'm a little confused about the female protagonist, she talks like shes in her 20's but looks like she's an early teen? Really curious what they're aiming at with her.

Pretty sweet. I was thinking of getting I Am Alive, but I think I'll hold off for this game instead.

Interesting. Looks good on the outside, but I'm all to aware of the overly scripted linearly boring monster that *could* be lurking beneath, so I'll attempt to remain skeptical. May not work though.

Nature encroaches upon civilization, forcing remaining survivors to kill for food, weapons and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a brave young teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.
That's the basic premise.

I think they are going for a young girl who is really mature for her years, which makes sense seeing as she will have had to grow up quickly in that sort of environment to survive. I think in one of the earlier press releases Naughty Dog mention that she is wise beyond her years.

I just thought of something that could bug me about this game. Do I have to kill everyone I meet? Surely not human being I meet wants me dead, I would like the opportunity to be able to stumble upon a group of people and be able to talk my way out of the situation, or just say "we're just passing through, don't want any trouble."

That looks pretty awesome. I hope you don't just kill people however, I like the idea of saving some.

For slavery, of course.

Also, just watching the trailer, the protagonist might as well be the bad guy. Seriously, perhaps I missed something, but he comes across some scavengers and proceeds to murder them. He stealth kills the first guy and is caught by his friend, who is understandably upset about someone murdering his bro. Things just spiral out of control, with the scavengers fighting for their life against a psychotic murderer who is hunting them down one by one. Oh and the crazy killer seems to be dragging along a little girl and is having her help him kill people.

I'm guessing that the full game provides some context for all this, but just watching the video makes me feel like the main character is the bad guy...

Yeah, I'm sold. It looks friggin' amazing. Added to my must play list.

Also:

Ellie... Ellen... Purely coincidental, I'm sure.

It looks good, if not ridiculously scripted. Hopefully it's a bit more free form than the feeling the trailer gives off.

I must admit I couldn't muster up that much excitement about it after the awful bit before that of that stupid Move shite and God Of War with trailers for Spike TV audio instead of the actual audio. Does look like it could be good though. Still a lot more excited for Watch Dogs though.

I think Sony thinks gamers have some sort of Ellen Page fetish with the girl from the The Last Of Us looking like her and her actually being the main character in Beyond.
