You do realise that I didn't write that Trolling segment, right? And that one of the guys that did is now a mod?

And I never made this thread as a set of rules. This was a guide I made for a friend that kind of became the unofficial rules overnight. It's more of a What Not To Do segment than anything else.

Yep, sorry about that, you need to put a link to your profile if you want to advertise your blog.

The Off Topic discussion forum would quickly descend into "check out my Deviant Art page", other websites and forums also have this policy. How strictly its enforced is up to them, we want our forums to be a place of discussion, not a MySpace copycat.

A thread in the job board just got locked, someone was asking about writers and if they were interested. It was called 'Writers Writers Writers'.

Where does advertising and job offers on a job board differ? I'm guessing it was locked because of advertising... not sure tho. I don't think there was a link to another site.

I'm just curious about how that works.

I'd ask a Moderator that, because I'm not sure if the Job Board existed when I made this thread. Nor do I use it that much, but I can assume that it uses a very similar system of rules with various extra strictness and leniency, much like User Reviews, Forum Games & RP and the Advice Forum. The latter I also don't have much experience with though either.

Not much of a player here these days. But the Mods are, so give them a buzz!

I general in believe in moderation. But I don't like being censored (I know Escapist is not a government) or having to self censor myself.

I'm not good at linking posts so I just pasted. My response was in bold. (I didn't bold it in my original post)

I truly believe if you laugh at shoes getting thrown in anger at people (whether you like them or not) you are acting like a child. And if I can't say what I believe what's the point of posting in the first place.

I'll probably get another warning or suspended for posting this because I'm at the warning limit. 1000 posts mainly in the religion and politics from a guy that is opinionated with no suspensions - I like to think I'm respectful of others. But if I can't speak my mind why bother.

I don't care if I'm suspended at this point. The fun has run it's course.

I'll use the time spent here to catch on my reading. So many books and now more time. And there will be one less asshole on these forums. It's a win win for everyone.

If you're having issues with the site, please report them to this group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tech-Team]. Any problems you have are most likely to get noticed, and subsequently fixed, if you post about them there.

I know that Misleading Thread Titles is one way to get the topic locked, but my topic needed a misleading thread title to work. It actually has its importance since we learn what the escapists think when they see something unusual and unlikely. Also it was a great reading so far.

I ask for a reopen. Have no idea if this is the proper place, but since it has so many replies maybe there are some other requests here too.
