I love the story in a game i enjoy getting to that big boss fight and killing him and Karma choices but i really enjoy the end sequence the Last 5 mins where they say how much of a Evil Douche you are or tell you how nice you are. But my Question is to you Forum Humans is

What Was your Fave Ending to a Video Game?? Was it Funny? Was it Tear Crying Good?

For me it Was Fallout 3.

{i just enjoy how they say how much of a evil guy you are its quite humorous

If we're going to do this, can we all please actually SAY THE GAME we're about to spoil in the spoiler box; there's no point in hiding the ending if we don't know what the ending's too.

Anyway, my vote goes to Mafia and PoP: The Sands of Time.

Good ending to both BioShocks. Make you feel quite warm inside.

And, Modern Warfare 1's was pretty epic too.

I liked how they put in there the possible element of your character just snapping and going utterly mad at all that had happened. Even better was how they dealt with canonisation in the second, with one group of splicers believing one and another believing the other.

The Fallout 3 colossal liberty prime bit at the end rocked. The end to Second Sight was pretty sweet in it's story.

The ending of both Mass Effect games. They feel even more epic and heroic if you've just finished the game on insanity.

I liked the ending of Infamous.

Chrono Trigger had some very nice endings too. I just loved that game...

Oh, I liked the ending of Earthbound a lot as well!

Nier, not the first two endings but the secret 3 and 4th endings just give you the worst choices ever and they are just truly heartwrenching

Resistance, Ratchet and Clank Futures: A Crack in Time, 4 of the endings of Silent Hill 2, all of the Prince of Persia: SOT trilogy, and No More Heroes.

If there had been no sequel, the ending to Gears of War would've been kind of awesome. Now that there is one, it's just a teaser.

Half-Life 2 and Episode 2.

If someone else doesn't mention these, something is very wrong here.

Yea, just the ending to the original was good, but the sequel kind of ruined it completely.

Not the games, just the ending to the first one.

Halo 2. I've been enjoying the years of people complaining about it. And it did it's job, selling the fuck out of the threequel.

Let's see....How can I do this abuse of parenthesis rather then spoiler tabs....Both Mass Effects(Everybody now! DAAAAAAAH, DAAAAAH, DUM-DAAAAH, DAAAH, DUM-DAH-DAH!) Resistance 2 (the writers of that game have BALLS.) MW2 (say what you want, but that ending was fucking EPIC.) MW1 (same. Huh. No out of place caps lock here.),AC2 (HA HA! Bet that one pissed a lot of people off.) and God of War 3.

Yeah.

EDIT: SHIT! And Half Life 2. Time, Dr. Freeman? Priceless.

Just to be different I'm going to post the ending for a free game called Temporal which I liked. (For those who care, it's a time-travel puzzle game like Chronotron with good puzzles but annoyingly frustrating platforming.)

At the beginning of the game, you, a robot, emerge from a recharging station on a space station with no idea how you got there. You make your way around the station, travelling through time occasionally to solve puzzles. However, the time travel is not good for your hardware and can cause "temporal aphasia" which kills you if you do it too often (this is just a way to limit your time travels in each level). Towards the end you find out that to escape the station you have to go back to where you started, so you go there, only to accidentally send yourself far back in time to just before the game started. The temporal aphasia wipes out your memory and drains your batteries, leaving you barely functioning. However, in the distance you see a recharging station and you drag yourself towards it, which ends the game.

The implication is that, because your memory was wiped, you will emerge from the station in exactly the same way as when you started the game, and, being a deterministic robot, will repeat your actions perfectly, so essentially the entire plot loops forever; you just played a single "loop". And, of course, this loop has happened an indeterminate number of times before you started playing, too.
